How well do sugar gliders (or flying squirrels) get along with cats?

...How well do sugar gliders (or flying squirrels) get along with cats?
Do not attempt to teach sugar gliders or flying squirrels to be friendly with ANY cat or dog. It's most always tragic for the glider or squirrel.

It is not natural for them to be 'friendly' with a predator and make no mistake, cats are predators. What you have in mind is like leaving the inmates in charge of the jail. How well do sugar gliders (or flying squirrels) get along with cats?
I don't think the sugar glider would care much for a cat. I am pretty sure the cat would want to kill the sugar glider. Keep them away from each other. Better safe than sorry.
Oh please don't put them together. They can live in the same household, but don't let it out with a cat in the room. My sis-in-law had one for over 15 yrs and she also had up to 4 cats at once, but one time the little glider got out and one of the cats scratched his eye pretty good and did damage to it and for the rest of his life it was messed up. (vet and all couldn't fix it all the way)
I don't think that would be safe. Once the cat sees him/her gliding, she/he will think it's some kind of toy and try to attack it. Unless, your cat has no problem with those little animals, it's ok, but it's kind of hard to keep a cat from doing its natural instincts.
Hello, there :D

How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?

For 4 nights - two or three small black squirrels have kept us up all night with their amazingly loud scratching and thumping noises. I am looking for a suggestion on how to deal with them. How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?
Once you figure out where they are coming from, you can take action:

If they are trapped in an area where you yourself can get at them, get on a pair of heavy-duty gloves and remove the obstruction that is blocking their way out without touching the squirrels. Then, make sure they can't get stuck again by blocking the space.

If they are outside (i.e. free), I personally suggest putting a wind chime near your house. Squirrels in particular hate the noise and will stay away from the area where the wind-chime is located. ;)

If you know they're trapped, but you can't free them without touching them, contact your local ASPCA office or wildlife preservation program; it's likely that they will send out a professional to get them out safely and without trauma. =)

Glad I could help! How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?
Oh, my gosh! I hope they are outside your house instead of inside. Where do you think the noises are coming from? I kept hearing scratching noises overhead at night. My son went all around the house, looking for a place where they could have entered the attic. Found a tiny opening clear around on the other side. He had to get up on a ladder to nail a board over the opening to keep them from getting in. We hoped none had been trapped inside, but apparently not; otherwise, there would have eventually been a terrible smell.

Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?

Does it kill the trees, it surely can't do them much good ?Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?
They strip bark off certain trees to get to the tender cambium layer, which they eat. The theories about pregnant females and searching for water, are just that, theories. Squirrels will strip bark even during wet, rainy weather. And yes, they have been known to kill trees. Porcupines are even worse, since cambium bark is one of their main sources of food. Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?
who cares if they use there teeth the qestion was why ^^lol

Anyways... They strip the bark because of...

1.Gnawing in search of water. This theory looks at bark stripping which occurs during the dry months.

2.Gnawing to cope with pain. The idea behind this theory is that pregnant female squirrels late in their term, don't eat. So the belief is that they gnaw on bark to cope with the pain.

3.Gnawing in search of food. This theory holds that squirrels are gnawing in search of the inner bark that would satisfy a particular nutritional need.
they do it cause they get tired and they're bored, but it's pretty much like going to the beach all day then you come home all sunburnt then you ask your boyfriend to scrape the dead skin off you. it's pretty much that.
they do it to eat the zapp from the tree (underneath the bark)
They use there teeth rite??
no

Why do squirrels in the park always run out in front of bicycles? Are they playing chicken?

No, they are running for there own reasons. It just that there are so many of them, some are bound to run in front of the occasional bicycle. Why do squirrels in the park always run out in front of bicycles? Are they playing chicken?
They love to play chicken... haven't you seen the GEICO commercial with the squirrels?
