If you are referring to ground squirrels, please keep in mind that it is illegal in most states, and for good reason. Squirrels should be nursed if found on the ground and released back to the wilde asap. They are not meant to be pets.

However, I am sure you are referring to flying squirrels, which can make good pets. the best way to bond with them is to handle them frequently. Prepare to be bitten. They are an exotic pet and are not easily tamed. Try using a bonding pouch. An oversized sweatshirt will do. Carry the gliders around with you and keep your hands near them so they get used to being touched and your smell. How to care for pet squirrels?
If they're really pets, you shouldn't have to tame them. Squirrels will bite if they're afraid. I'd either take them back to where they were originally caught and release them or try and find a shelter that deals with exotic animals. I'd also check with a zoo and see what diseases they carry and what vaccinations you need when (not if) you are bitten.
