...How well do sugar gliders (or flying squirrels) get along with cats?
Do not attempt to teach sugar gliders or flying squirrels to be friendly with ANY cat or dog. It's most always tragic for the glider or squirrel.
It is not natural for them to be 'friendly' with a predator and make no mistake, cats are predators. What you have in mind is like leaving the inmates in charge of the jail. How well do sugar gliders (or flying squirrels) get along with cats?
I don't think the sugar glider would care much for a cat. I am pretty sure the cat would want to kill the sugar glider. Keep them away from each other. Better safe than sorry.
Oh please don't put them together. They can live in the same household, but don't let it out with a cat in the room. My sis-in-law had one for over 15 yrs and she also had up to 4 cats at once, but one time the little glider got out and one of the cats scratched his eye pretty good and did damage to it and for the rest of his life it was messed up. (vet and all couldn't fix it all the way)
I don't think that would be safe. Once the cat sees him/her gliding, she/he will think it's some kind of toy and try to attack it. Unless, your cat has no problem with those little animals, it's ok, but it's kind of hard to keep a cat from doing its natural instincts.
Hello, there :D
i have two little suggies! sugar and spice (i no how unoriginal names! lol)
any way bak to the question! i have 3 cats and they saw each other! now my cats arent the type tht chase mice and kill! but still they went for my gliders! so my advice is no sorry mate! :)
hope i helped see you :)

How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?
For 4 nights - two or three small black squirrels have kept us up all night with their amazingly loud scratching and thumping noises. I am looking for a suggestion on how to deal with them. How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?
Once you figure out where they are coming from, you can take action:
If they are trapped in an area where you yourself can get at them, get on a pair of heavy-duty gloves and remove the obstruction that is blocking their way out without touching the squirrels. Then, make sure they can't get stuck again by blocking the space.
If they are outside (i.e. free), I personally suggest putting a wind chime near your house. Squirrels in particular hate the noise and will stay away from the area where the wind-chime is located. ;)
If you know they're trapped, but you can't free them without touching them, contact your local ASPCA office or wildlife preservation program; it's likely that they will send out a professional to get them out safely and without trauma. =)
Glad I could help! How do you deal with small black squirrels making loud scratching noises?
Oh, my gosh! I hope they are outside your house instead of inside. Where do you think the noises are coming from? I kept hearing scratching noises overhead at night. My son went all around the house, looking for a place where they could have entered the attic. Found a tiny opening clear around on the other side. He had to get up on a ladder to nail a board over the opening to keep them from getting in. We hoped none had been trapped inside, but apparently not; otherwise, there would have eventually been a terrible smell.

Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?
Does it kill the trees, it surely can't do them much good ?Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?
They strip bark off certain trees to get to the tender cambium layer, which they eat. The theories about pregnant females and searching for water, are just that, theories. Squirrels will strip bark even during wet, rainy weather. And yes, they have been known to kill trees. Porcupines are even worse, since cambium bark is one of their main sources of food. Why do squirrels strip the bark off trees ?
who cares if they use there teeth the qestion was why ^^lol
Anyways... They strip the bark because of...
1.Gnawing in search of water. This theory looks at bark stripping which occurs during the dry months.
2.Gnawing to cope with pain. The idea behind this theory is that pregnant female squirrels late in their term, don't eat. So the belief is that they gnaw on bark to cope with the pain.
3.Gnawing in search of food. This theory holds that squirrels are gnawing in search of the inner bark that would satisfy a particular nutritional need.
they do it cause they get tired and they're bored, but it's pretty much like going to the beach all day then you come home all sunburnt then you ask your boyfriend to scrape the dead skin off you. it's pretty much that.
they do it to eat the zapp from the tree (underneath the bark)
They use there teeth rite??

Why do squirrels in the park always run out in front of bicycles? Are they playing chicken?
No, they are running for there own reasons. It just that there are so many of them, some are bound to run in front of the occasional bicycle. Why do squirrels in the park always run out in front of bicycles? Are they playing chicken?

The squirrels in my garden bury the peanuts i feed them..do they remember where they are after hibernation?
i always feed squirrels in my garden and i have been watching them bury the peanuts in the lawn...do they actually remeber where they put them? The squirrels in my garden bury the peanuts i feed them..do they remember where they are after hibernation?
i used to wonder the same thing growing up (right next to a forest), and I was surprised to learn that they don't remember the exact spots. they can usually remember the general vicinity of the nut and keep digging until they find one.
i was kinda disappointed... i thought they had super powered memory skills :-)The squirrels in my garden bury the peanuts i feed them..do they remember where they are after hibernation?
Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. When they don't, this is when nature supplies them with more peanuts.
Actually squirrels really only remember about half of the locations they bury stuff in, lol.
As mentioned above, they only remember half of the time.
I feed ours the dry corn cobs and last spring I had 4 corn stalks grow in the backyard where they buried the kernnels!
For laughs, look up the Squirrel bungee online. I got one and they love it now that they're used to it! Lots of fun...
They only remember the general area, not the specific locations. Between this, a good sense of smell, and dumb luck they will find enough in early spring to stave off starvation - usually.
yes they will remember.

Found a 4 wk old baby red squirrel. I ve read you can make them pets. Does anyone have one?
If you want one it is okay it is your choiceFound a 4 wk old baby red squirrel. I ve read you can make them pets. Does anyone have one?
Don't take animals out of the wild to make them pets. That's selfish, unfair to the animal, and illegal. Squirrels make bad pets and are extremely hard to care for properly. It would definitely be best to get it to a wildlife rehabber right away. A lot of the babies that are brought in to them had been in someone's home for a while first, because they thought they were cute and wanted to try to raise them. Sadly, a lot of them were brought in once they became seriously ill or otherwise unmanageable. It's sad because I know that they only wanted to help and had good intentions, but were doing more harm than good. The survival rates of orphans brought in the same day or next day they were found increased their chances of surviving greatly. Please do right by the squirrel, and give it a second chance at a happy, natural life in the wild.Found a 4 wk old baby red squirrel. I ve read you can make them pets. Does anyone have one?

Are you allowed to feed the squirrels in central park new york?
I think I read somewhere there was a law against feeding them but not sure now.Are you allowed to feed the squirrels in central park new york?
I don't think there's any law against feeding them but, even if there is, no one, including the police, pays any attention to it, so, go for it, it's fun!
Some of the squirrels will even come right up to you to take a peanut out of your hand, but, be careful, squirrels are actually a little far-sighted, which means that their vision isn't so good right up close, and every once in a while they can grab your finger instead of the nut you're holding out!
I know this because it's happened to me... no harm to either me or the squirrel, we both just got a good scare!
Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage all about squirrels...

How do I keep rabbits and squirrels from eating my flowers and rose bushes?
Here is a link that should help you out, and is interesting reading as well! Also included are alternative plants that are rather more uninteresting to the nibblers. How do I keep rabbits and squirrels from eating my flowers and rose bushes?
Spray your flowers and rose bushes with product called Liquid Fence. It can be purchased at most hardware and building centers like Lowes and Home Depot. How do I keep rabbits and squirrels from eating my flowers and rose bushes?
A large, barking dog will scare away rabbits and squirrels.
fence it
Plant zinnias around the flowers and rose bushes as a border. The rabbits and squirrels hate the smell. This also works if you have a vegetable garden.
SET A RATTRAP!!
Put those old deflated shiny metallic balloons--like the ones sent with flowers or from parties--to work in your garden. Cut them into vertical strips and hang them from poles around your plants and on bushes to scare off rabbits and squirrels.
buy a gun.
buy ammo for said gun.
load the ammo into the gun.
wait for rabbits and squirrels.
shoot at them with the gun you bought.
pretty flowers!
this is gonna sound weird but go to your local dog groomer and ask if they will save you a bag of doghair.Thats right doghair. Put it under your mulch. Rabbits %26amp; squirrels wont go near it they hate the smellzits

How do you get rid of squirrels in your attic and keep them away?
Close all the Holes in your attick so nothing comes in, Then Put out traps for them, ( the ones that don't kill )How do you get rid of squirrels in your attic and keep them away?
I suggest getting a cat. Keep it in the attic. It will solve the problem and you will have a pet.How do you get rid of squirrels in your attic and keep them away?
Quit feeding them. Get rid of the trees. In Louisiana people kill and eat them.

Go there, it explains it all.
Find out how they are getting in and fix it. Put your cats in there to clean them out or mouse traps.
#1 - To drive out the squirrels - use moth balls. Then find how there getting in and patch it up. Be careful in the store. we had the same problem with bats. Moth balls are made out of napthelene flakes and cost $2 for a one pound box. Bat and squirrel repellant is made of the same napthelene flakes, but goes for $10 a box.
#2 - Many towns with an animal control officer, will be glad to send someone out to help catch the squirrel, which is usually free, although you may want to make a donation. Sometimes you can rent for a small deposit, from either animal control, the SPCA, or Humane Society, what is known as a live animal trap. You will probably have to put the trap close to where the squirrel is living. Bait it with peanut butter, they love this, put it on an apple slice.
You could also use a deterent, such as ';Squirrel Away';, This can be purchased in Wal-mart, and also, livestock/feed supply stores. Sometimes the big building supply places, like Home Depot or Lowes carries it also.
#3 - Try wetting rags with amonia and spreading them around the general area that the animal is living in. Most animals have more highly developed senses of smell than we do, and amonia drives them nuts. At the same time, leave a light on in the area that they are living, and leave a radio playing non-stop. The radio doesn't need to be loud enough to bother you, just them.
You need to make sure that the animal has not left any young behind in the place they were living. If given enough time, they will move their offspring out of inhospitable environments, but it may take them several trips.

Does anyone know how often baby squirrels survive a long fall?
I looked on the back porch a few weeks ago %26amp; noticed there were 4 baby squirrels laying around. I went outside to see if they were dead, they were still breathing (rapidly) %26amp; suddenly, the mother came out of nowhere. I already knew not to touch them so I went back in. Well, we found out her TREE nest fell apart. She still had a few in the tree, so they fell as well. It was disturbing. These babies fell about 12 feet from the tree. I'm curious, I'd like to know if the ones would have most likely died later from the fall?Does anyone know how often baby squirrels survive a long fall?
Small animals can take falls very well, but those babies may have died anyway. They need to be in a warm nest, away from predators. Did the mother collect them?

In the last week I have had two screens of windows bitten into by squirrels, is there a home remedy that can deter them from attempting to enter my apartment. I've been using ammonia, by spraying it on the window and screen. My OLD neighbors thing these rodent are pets and feed them how can i get them to stay away from my windowIs that a suggestion for keep Squirrels away Please help?
This is strange, twice in a week. They obviously want something you have inside of that window. I'll skip the large nut joke. Try to determine what they want, and remove it from their view. Rig a pile of tin cans to fall if they come back. The noise will scare them, and condition them to stay away. Get a device that emits high frequency sounds, that people can not hear, but drives rodents nuts. Don't feed them.Is that a suggestion for keep Squirrels away Please help?
There are ultrasonic devices available to keep pesky rodents
away. They emit a very high pitched, high frequency tone, undetected by human ears. They're available at any home center (Home Depot, Menards, Lowes etc..) They're small, compact, easily mounted almost anywhere and fairly inexpensive. You could also try placing mothballs around your
window, if YOU can stand the smell. My Mom used to put jars of water in her flower beds to keep rabbits away. They'd see their own reflection, magnified, and get scared away.
I shoot squirrels with bb guns. Then leave a dead one or two lying around the area I don't want them to be in. The other squirrels see the dead one and get the hint.

WHAT TO FEED 6 WEEK OLD BABY SQUIRREL?
I believe if I remember right you should feed it puppy formula if it will drink it. If it will not drink the puppy formula, you can give it water. You can also give sunflower seeds, corn on the cob not cooked, and unsalted peanuts.WHAT TO FEED 6 WEEK OLD BABY SQUIRREL?
Nothing. Squirrels are not pets so they should be outside fending for themselves. Turn it loose and it will instinctively know what to eat. It it doesn't then something else will eat the squirrel. That's how the food chain works.

Squirrels can't get to them. Al's sheep are hoarding them all. Word is they come in several mind-bending flavors.

Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
I know someone that has an adult squirrel and has had it in his possesion for 4 years and now has just aquired another baby squirrel. Do you have to have a special game license to keep them in captivity? Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
Yes it's against the law. Squirrels if found hurt are suppose to be turned over to a wild life refuge /rehab center. But then I have Two squirrels that I have had for over a year, They were living in the attic of a house that was torn down and it was winter so I took them in.
The other problem for having squirrels that long is if you do let them go, They will not know how to look for food and could starve, This is from being fed by a person for so long(4 Years)
But then people keep exotic Birds, Snakes, Ferrets %26amp; other critters, So I guess if you found a squirrels and took care of it then what's the harm.Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
You should check with your state laws. Some states require that you have a Wildlife Rehab permit, and then you only keep the animals as long as they can't survive in the wild...you do release animals after they are well or grown up.
no. i no a person that has a pet squirrel, but it lives inside and outside, not in a cage.
Its actually illegal in the US... but for the 4 year old squirrel... Im sure by now it knows nothing but being indoors.. a little late for that fella. as for the baby... she should contact a rehabber to raise it.
if she has a rehab permit.. she can legally have them..but is required to release them also.
but you wouldnt believe the people finding squirrels and keeping them... sometimes its sad..sometimes the squirrels rule the roost and personally.. I think its fine.. if the squirrels happy.. I hate to see them caged.. and pacing.. if the squirrels happy.. so be it.
nope
i don't think it's illegal to keep squirrels but it's not good for them and now they realy can't be releast becuse they are now use to humans and wont be abel to find food on ther own

Does anyone know of anything I can put in my flower pots outside that will get rid of squirrels?
I go outside every morning and they've broken off more limbs on my flowers.Does anyone know of anything I can put in my flower pots outside that will get rid of squirrels?
The best thing to do is give them something else to go after. I have noticed that squirrels want to be sneaky and trouble makers. Put out some old apples, corn cobs, avacados and whatever else they would enjoy. You can just put them around in random places or get creative and make them work for it. You can also get some dogs. I know the squirrels in our yard stay out of our dogs reach, which leaves the lower avacados for us and they get all the high ones. This also is great fun for the dogs to torment the squirrels.Does anyone know of anything I can put in my flower pots outside that will get rid of squirrels?
Well, squirrels aren't nocturnal, so more than likely you're dealing with racoons or something, not squirrels. I used some stuff called Shake Away to get rid of raccoons in my yard, and it pretty much worked on most critters. It's got garlic and coyote musk in it and makes raccoons and other animals scared of it. I bought it at a hardware store, I'm pretty sure they sell it all over. Matter of fact, I just googled it and found it on the internet. I'll put the link under the source.
I found this - Shake Away. See here: http://www.critter-repellent.com/squirre鈥?/a>
The ONE AND ONLY WAY to take care of your problem is with trapping and removal of the animals.

Cajun Squirrel - is it a real dish?
I'm wondering if the new flavour of walkers crisps Cajun Squirrel exists as a dish?i searched it on google and it comes up with walkers only. so Im not sure... if it is, what is it? or was the guy meaning cajun flavour and squirrel was added to make it sound cute?Cajun Squirrel - is it a real dish?
Cajun is a spice that you could add to any meat including squirrel! It is a possibility! Don't know where you get squirrel meat from. Could happen!Cajun Squirrel - is it a real dish?
I have no idea how that would be a flavor for crisps, but Squirrel is really tasty and I'm sure the Cajuns eat them. People in rural areas have gotten over the ';eeewww'; factor so predominant in urban America and have realized that all sorts of non traditional critters (Squirrels, Rabbits, Possum, Raccoon...) are tasty and nutritious. Just because you can't buy it at the supermarket doesn't make it gross

I know they eat squirrel in the south, but I'm not sure about the chips you're talking about. They also eat gator, nutri, opposum and other wild life. **Nutri is a water rat in LA that was brought in by accident**.
Saw it on the food channel in Bizarre Foods just yesterday. Personally, I like gator. Don't think I'd eat rat or rodent, tho. Lest I have to.
No, i dont think so, its like Chili and Chocolate!
Can you picture making a chili n chocalte meal, sounds horrible!
Yup, so is Jack-a-lope. ;)zits

Injured squirrel. What to do?
My cat attacked and injured a squirrel. Its pretty small. It can't walk; it appears that the front legs are injured. It's making little squeeking noises and it seems to be breathing pretty heavily. Also, it's eyes are closed and only open a bit. There are no wildlife rehabilitation clinics in my area, What should I do? Right now it is in a cat carrier with bedding, food and water, but it doesnt appear to be eating.Injured squirrel. What to do?
To be blunt, the little one will die of the wounds, best thing I could suggest is stay with it till its time comes, keep it as comfortable as possible and learn from the experience.
Nature has an odd way of weeding things out, your cat caught it for a reason, may have already been sick, weak or just inexperienced...it happens.
Don't blame your cat, but the next time it happens (and it will), let nature take its course.
Once a cat punctures the skin of a mouse, bird etc. the puncture contains a nasty bacteria that in more cases than not will kill in about 24 hours time.
The flip side of this for your cat is if kitty eats the prey, there are enzymes in the prey that are very beneficial to your cat.Injured squirrel. What to do?
bring it to a veterinarian as soon as possible even if its not bleeding. the vet will do something abt it.
RIP little squirrel. You should bury it and make a little marker with rocks or something.
You might try getting a bell collar for your cat to scare away it's ';prey.'; My mom's cat used to bring surprises up on the porch all the time until she got him a bell collar. Make sure you get one with a safety release.
You should have let the cat and squrriel be the cat was doing what came naturally. My little Daschund he loved to to catch the squrriels %26amp; eat their legs off. If a squrriel ever gets in your house they will tear things up. Squrriels are rats with long tails.
squirrels are tough, just let nature rule
if it is terribly bad off and cant move you might ought to put it out of it's missery. take it to the vet and give it one eighth of a baby asprin.
I would contact a local veterinarian and ask for advice.
.
good, squirrels are bad i tell you, BAD

Where do the insects and squirrels go when it turns cold?
where are the bee's and fly's and squirrels, they were just outside my door weeks ago. I know they hibernate but where? It's not like a big bus come and pick them all up. so are they in my backyard? if you don't can you give me a website that tells me.Where do the insects and squirrels go when it turns cold?
Most insects die, some go dormant and if you put an open jar of peanut butter out in your yard once a week, you will see plenty of squirrels. Squirrels huddle up together for warmth and live on stored hidden nuts. They are not as active so they can conserve energy, unless there is an easy source of calories available. Some move into attics and mooch off your warmth.Where do the insects and squirrels go when it turns cold?
well funny you should ask about squirrels. I have them in my garage setting of my adt alarm. I have to bypass that zone just so the police don't come. I have to find out where they are comming in from!
The squirrels have nests in the trees. At night they curl up in a little ball to stay warm. during the day the come out and feed. I put out corn and I have 5 of them feeding in my back yard every day.
Coach
insect spend the winter under bark leaves squirrles are around year round when its real nasty out they will hole up for aday or so and the come out to find food
They go to Florida

Do squirrel monkeys make good pets?
No. Monkeys in general don't really make good pets. They require a highly diverse, fresh diet, they're messy as heck (they throw anything and everything- food, toys, poo, other body fluids- yuck....), and need pretty much constant interaction. It's like having a very strong, very needy, very messy 3 year old with big teeth. They're really not for everyone.

Hi from Truckee Ca. Well my son said he missed running over a squirrel at midnight. Are they out that late?
In Truckee, Good Heavens Yes!! Just be happy he didn't hit the deer that often frequent there too, or the skunk, or raccoons!
Hope hes OKHi from Truckee Ca. Well my son said he missed running over a squirrel at midnight. Are they out that late?
I have never seen them active after dark. However, something may have disturbed it. It might have been a rat. It was dark and your son may not have gotten a good look at it.Hi from Truckee Ca. Well my son said he missed running over a squirrel at midnight. Are they out that late?
There are probably a few out, up to no good. Darting in front of cars and raiding bird feeders.zits

Help! Squirrel attacked me this morning~WHY?
I had just gotten out of my car early this morning and started to make my way across the driveway when I heard something like a cross between a cat mewing and hissing. I didn't see anything, kept walking and all of a sudden a squirrel came rushing at me making these ugly noises and trying to bite me. I jumped on top of my car. The squirrel stayed on the edge of the driveway and whenever I attempted to get off the car, lunged at me. Within a minute or so, I had 7 squirrels around the car making horrible chatter and lunging at the car but never attempting to actually get onto it. I was scared out of my mind!
I have 4 large trees in front of my house that the squirrels hang out in apparently and now as soon as I try to leave out the front door, they race to the stoop!
I called animal care and control, but apparently they thought it was a joke and thentold me Chicago has no provisions for squirrel control.
Why are they doing this? I hate squirrels! How can I get rid of them?Help! Squirrel attacked me this morning~WHY?
I have had a similar experience, I believe you. I think that squirrels are social creatures and if one decides that you are a threat the others will back him up. It is also possible that these are young squirrels that are siblings and the mom has kicked them out of the nest to seek their own food. They haven't learned fear of humans yet, and now it is too late. I suspect that you have a neighbor that has been feeding them, that has suddenly stopped , either they saw the problem multiplying with tamed, hungry, fearless, rodents, or they went out of town. Call a pest control expert, pay for the service, it is worth it. OR you can trap them yourself. Get rat traps at Home Depot and gloves. Home Depot also has electronic pest deterrents for $8 that really work. Put one in your attic, crawlspace, garage. Good luck, be careful.Help! Squirrel attacked me this morning~WHY?
Absolutely hilarious scenario. I hope your problem gets solved. The answer given is good enough. Personally, I'd just go with the suggestion of trapping or killing them. You can also give them a bit more time and they will settle down. As others have noted, they are probably young squirrels.
they heard you were NUTS. LOL
Originally, I thought maybe it had rabies...but if you say there were 7, that seems unlikely. The whole story seems a little bogus, but I believe you. Don't have any other suggestions though. One things for sure...don't let them bite or scratch you!
This is the time of the year when squirrels have just had their young and apparently feel that you and your car are a threat to the babies. I know all about Animal Control in Chicago. Been there and done that. Everything is a joke. They wont catch and release skunks or raccoons as they have potential rabies so they just kill them and charge you. Try parking your car farther away from the trees where you are not crossing thier paths. Squirrel babies will be on their own in several more weeks. Sorry, that is about all I can tell you. However, I do have another idea. I kept squirrels from bothering me and my garden by putting out a corn feeder and and piles of nuts in the shell. They bought into my';filthy lucre'; and left me and the garden alone. Try a peace offering of food and let them see you putting out the food. That's it for now.
You could have a rabid squirrel which is very dangerous. Call animal control back and tell them that.
Shoot them or put out poison if no one will help you.
Call a pest control service, they will round them up...the same people that take care of rats.
If you got bitten, you need to go see a doctor, no telling what diseases those little animals have.
I have them in my backyard, and they are very docile, and kind of fun to look at when you wake up in the morning, but if they bit me, i would twist their heads off with my bare hands.
I don't know how you can get rid of them, but you do need to be careful, as squirrels carry rabies... No kidding. They are dangerous and you are right to be scared. Have you thought about calling the SPCA? They might have some ideas... But here are a few links that may help:

He is probably an Alpha type. When you showed him another squirrel, he felt threatened (jealous) and wanted you to know. This is the way with non-domestic animals. It sounds like you have lost a pet and now have a wild animal caged in your home.
You just need to kick a little squirrel butt. Make an example out of one of them and you will have their respect.

How to care for pet squirrels?
does anyone have a squirrel as a pet? how do u care for it? i just got my pet squirrels, 2 of them and they are partners, i dont know if how to care for them. can they take a bath or is it necessarry? my pet squirrels tend to be afraid when someone is near their cage. im afraid they might bite or something...how can i tame them? pls help! How to care for pet squirrels?
If you are referring to ground squirrels, please keep in mind that it is illegal in most states, and for good reason. Squirrels should be nursed if found on the ground and released back to the wilde asap. They are not meant to be pets.
However, I am sure you are referring to flying squirrels, which can make good pets. the best way to bond with them is to handle them frequently. Prepare to be bitten. They are an exotic pet and are not easily tamed. Try using a bonding pouch. An oversized sweatshirt will do. Carry the gliders around with you and keep your hands near them so they get used to being touched and your smell. How to care for pet squirrels?
If they're really pets, you shouldn't have to tame them. Squirrels will bite if they're afraid. I'd either take them back to where they were originally caught and release them or try and find a shelter that deals with exotic animals. I'd also check with a zoo and see what diseases they carry and what vaccinations you need when (not if) you are bitten.

What do you do if you're driving down the road and a squirrel runs out in front of you?
swirve and slam on my breaks
i would feel horrible even if i hit a little squirrell
im a definite animal loverWhat do you do if you're driving down the road and a squirrel runs out in front of you?
Probably spin out of control, as a reflex. What do you do if you're driving down the road and a squirrel runs out in front of you?
put the foot down!
Let off the gas hit your horn gently steer tword curb. no sudden stops no sudden jerk of wheel. the curb could be as much as 7+ inches lower than pavement, this could cause accident if you try to come back on road at high speed. You are worth more than a sqirel if it run out and all you have time for is to let off gas thats all you can do.
Depends on how thick the traffic iz....
I speed up, honk at it and try to scare the crap out of it. It's cruel, but it's funny to me.
hit da brake if there's no car so i dont run da poor squirrel ova
throw my hands in front of my eyes and scream like a little girl
I once watched a squirrel fall out of a tree when I was driving past a local park. poor squirrel think he lost his balance.
Just keep going. Accident happen by tying to swerve around small animals in the road. Unless it's bigger then a small dog, just keep going.
run it over. I don't want to get into an accident.
Swirve out of the way!!
i'd be a dead 23 year old on the side of the road. knowing me i would swive and land in a ditch, just so the squirrel could live. the squirrel will be like the geico commercial and give each other high fives!!!!!
startle him so he drops his nuts.
Drive over it like on that add, so that it goes under the car and drops its nuts.
Hahahaha.
I try my hardest to squish the rodent
See if you can get it with both the front
and rear tires.
Getting it airborne is pretty funny too.
Road Kill Stew yall
Slow down or stop so it can get across.
get out of the car and run to get it then hug it and tell the squirel i always wanted it lol im weird
accelerate ..glancing blow ...
stuff him
add to squirrel army ...
If you're not being careful while driving, you should feel bad about the creature. Even though it's considered a rodent, It does still have a LIFE like us. Who wanted to take their lives in just one snap?
But, if the rodent is not being careful, and your always paying attention to the road... Well, I don't know, It's still the same, the squirrel has life, and that life is just ONE.
I'm so sorry.
I would take a nanosecond to think if I can brake, if not check side mirrors if i can swerve, if not then i try to center him and hope that he ducks and doesn't go under my wheels.
Hopefully he'll survive. ^_^
slam on my breaks or swerve....you have to be careful cause they freak out, spin and run the other way. Poor squirrels...
Brake and swirve if necessary.
I am sure they would do the same for me if they were the ones driving.
try to avoid hitting it
probably swerving into oncoming traffic
My father always told me to continue on but, I have swerved lots of times!!
Stop the car and think 'Oh cute! I wonder if it works for Geico?'
I hope and pray that I don't run over it! Swerving out of the way is dangerous and it can harm you and others, but if you just keep driving, at worst you will just kill the squirrel.
Well I'd drive out of my way and try my best not to get in an accident as much as possible and to not hurt or harm it in anyway

I have 2 baby squirrels, when do they start eating normal food? And what kind?
I don't know. Call a vet.,they can tell you.I have 2 baby squirrels, when do they start eating normal food? And what kind?
When their teeth start to come in you can start to soak bread in milk. Let them suck the milk out of the bread. They will start to get solids that way. Give them wheat bread. You can also start them on nuts and fruit and veggies. Not too much fruit because the high sugar content is not good for them. Don't give them nuts with salt on them. They like it, but it's not good for them.I have 2 baby squirrels, when do they start eating normal food? And what kind?
I gave a baby squirrel I couldn't get back in the nest, baby formula with a bottle. I introduced baby cereal and food. Fresh fruits and chopped nuts. I would avoid food with preservatives. Later, using a ferret harness and leash...I took it to the park. Gave basket and a plant to play in. Later released. The squirell brought back its babies...left a feeder and water bottle hanging from a tree outside. Squirrels are wild animals.
I had baby squirrels to and the best thing to start then on is peanut butter.then when they can they will eat peanuts in the shell. just keep them in there cage. they will choose when they want them, they also love candy, but be careful, make sure you keep those peanuts handy for them all the time. its keeps there teeth strong.good luck
at 10 months and they eat grains

How do I keep squirrels from eating my tulip bulbs? I tried soap shavings last year and that didn't work.
I bought four dozen bulbs last year from a country stand in rural Illinois. The lady gave me a bunch of hotel soap and she said to use a cheese grater to put shavings over the bulbs. The shavings worked for like a week until it rained. The soap dissolved and squirrels ate my bulbs the next day. Only two flowers came up the following spring.
Please give me tips on what you have used and WHAT WORKED FOR YOU. Please don't toss in your two cents like ';Try this'; or ';How 'bout that';. This is Yahoo! Answers and not Yahoo! Take a Guess. Thanks! How do I keep squirrels from eating my tulip bulbs? I tried soap shavings last year and that didn't work.
Put moth balls in the planting hole, then sprinkle some moth crystals around, after you have finished planting.
If you really want to have some overkill, wrap the bulbs together in a bundle of chicken wire or mesh screening. I usually put 3, 5 or 7 bulbs in a hole at a time.
When they come into bloom, here is a recipe for keeping critters from eating the flowers:
Get a Watering Can
Tinkle in it
Add a Beer
Squirt in some dish soap---like Dawn or Joy--not Cascade
Toss in a Cigar
Empty hair from a hairbrush, and toss that in
Dump in a container of cayenne red pepper %26lt;99cents at CVS Drug Store%26gt;
Fill watering can to the top with water.
Stir with a stick, and leave outside overnight
When the buds are just beginning to open, sprinkle contents of the watering can on the plants.
Repeat, after each rainfall.
I think you will be a happy camper! This concoction really works!
PS...I couldn't agree more with your position regarding ';try this'; or ';how about that';!!!How do I keep squirrels from eating my tulip bulbs? I tried soap shavings last year and that didn't work.
Human hair spread over the ground where the bulbs are. You can get the hair from any hairdresser. Wild animals (deer, squirrels, skunks) find humans and our smells to be scary, so the avoid them thinking we're still there.
Cayenne pepper, and garlic cloves
sprinkle ground hot pepper around the area.
if you have a cat the litter box dumpings around the flower bed,
cats and squirrels dont get along. If they think a cat is near by, they wont come near.
Cats love to eat squirrels.
Cat pee, dont go away that easy.
Use squirrel repellent spray.

Moth Balls, they don't like the smell and will hold up longer than pepper. We use them under our house in our crawl space to ward off mice and snakes. So far we have had niether under our house. This also works to keep dogs and stray animals out of your flower beds.
Sprinkle Cayenne Pepper in the garden after planting the bulbs. Squirrels and other animals hate it.
Pepper works but you need to apply it about once a week. It worked for my tulips. But that didn't keep them off of my tomato plants. My great grandmother told me to clean out a hair brush and put your hair around it. That was the only thing that kept them away from my tomatoes.
Squirrels ARE a real problem. I use 22 cal CB caps

Brown and black baby squirrels in same nest?
I have a hollow tree in my yard which a squirrel has built a nest. The mother is a large brown squirrel. However now the babies are sticking their heads out of the holes in the tree and running around the outside of the holes and I see that their are 3 blacks ones and 1 brown one. How can this be?Brown and black baby squirrels in same nest?
mixed genes from both parents.
the father is most probably black as well, so his colour was more dominant in those particular baby squirrels than in the single brown one
the mother's brown coloured gene was more dominant in the single brown baby squirrel than in the black ones.

When was the occasion you gave the time of day to a squirrel ?
How do you think that makes them feel ?When was the occasion you gave the time of day to a squirrel ?
General Sparky is a squirrel that gets saluted by airmen at Keesler AB. People also feed him cheezits and pizza. He even got invited inside to watch tv with some of the airmen at least once. When was the occasion you gave the time of day to a squirrel ?
I used to feed one with a spoonful of peanut butter.Really Happy
I do every morning, well I feed them lettuce anyway.
We have lots of squirrels, here at the beach...
my son loves squirrels. he got 2 books about them from the library
I love squirrels, they are manic. !! Someone was looking for you earlier, i said that you were in make up.
i have a bunch of squirrels in my room, mother is always on my case about them, saying that i shouldnt hug the ones with the foam around their mouth, but what does she know...
well, George,
I have 2 that come to my pool and drink. even if i am poutside sitting. they l;ook at me like ';where are my crackers'; i go get crackers and they come get them. I love squirrels!
Yesterday, he was going nuts because his watch stopped..he felt kinda squirrely..
A few weeks ago, he was running late to a acorn burying. Nice little fellow.... seemed nervous though
Funny you should bring that up...I just talked to Rocky yesterday and he seemed to be ok with it, but...
he did say he was late for something. Had to be there at 5, but it was already 4, and you know, with rushhour traffic, seemed real nervous.
They have a warm fuzzy sensation on the inside.
There never has been such an occasion.
I can't remember the last time a squirrel ASKED me for the time of day. That makes ME feel neglected.
I love your hair!!
i dont like squirrel
I see that the drugs are finally kicking in
I saw him sitting beside the road begging for nuts, I tossed him a cashew, I think it made him feel weak in the eyes of the other squirrels, I told him to buck up, and go forage in the woods for feed. I think he may have been a little more positive at the end of our encounter.
I feed our squirrels out in our yard, especially in the summer mornings I feed them by hand and they sit with me while I have my morning coffee. I think they are more then happy in the winter months when food is harder to find. You can tell they are well fed they are getting fat.
earlier today and scared due to me enjoying my dog chasing it in the park.
I threw pecans at them to munch on. They were frolicking in my backyard. I think they felt special!
;)
