What is the best repellent to keep deer, rabbits and squirrels away from my plants etc.?
Planting some garlic will keep the deer, rabbits, and squirrels away from your garden and provide you with a nice herb when it matures.
There are repellent products you can buy, Plantskydd and Rabbit Scram are a couple of the brand names, but I like the natural approach better.
Garlic, thyme, rosemary, and basil are also good mosquito repellents! What is the best repellent to keep deer, rabbits and squirrels away from my plants etc.?
12 gage shotgun :-)
I find watered down human urine works. You can buy coyote urine at most hunting supply stores, but your own is free. I've used blood and bone meal as repellents too. Most garden centers sock them. What is the best repellent to keep deer, rabbits and squirrels away from my plants etc.?
Get a big dog......zits

I once dreamt that a giant squirrel came and took me away, does that make me a nut?
No...just a nature lover!!!I once dreamt that a giant squirrel came and took me away, does that make me a nut?
To see squirrels running around, signifies that you are involved in a loveless or pointless relationship or an unprofitable business project. Squirrels also refers to the act of hoarding. It could either mean that you need to reserve something or it could indicate that you are retaining too much and need to learn to let go.
To dream that you are trying to run over squirrels with a lawn mower, suggests that you are trying to change your beliefs or alter your ideas in order to conform to others. You are seeking some form of acceptance.
To dream that you are feeding a squirrel, denotes comfort through hard work, diligence and prudence.
To see squirrels in a tree, forewarns that you will be faced with an embarrassing situation.
To dream that giant squirrels are trying to take you away means that you are nuts -- yes you are right.I once dreamt that a giant squirrel came and took me away, does that make me a nut?

How do i stop squirrels from chewing through the screens on my windows & coming into my home?
it climbs onto my kitchen window sill or even onto my roof and chews through the screens on my main and second floor. its getting annoying, not to mention very scaryHow do i stop squirrels from chewing through the screens on my windows %26amp; coming into my home?
put peppermint down they hate the smell of it also leave a Lil clock radio next to the window and play some rock music and they will not be backHow do i stop squirrels from chewing through the screens on my windows %26amp; coming into my home?
Go to www.Rataway.com Rataway stops squirrels, rats, mice, coyotes,
woodpeckers,dogs,cats,puppy'鈥?etc..from chewing
Rataway is a non-poisonous spray.Protects car engines %26amp; wiring,homes,
business,boats,equipment motor homes,etc.. safe around children,pets,
service personal cost $25.00
leave them some food outside
by putting up stainless steel like on the screen so the squirrels slide off
Spray the screen with hot pepper wax. Bonide makes it and probably other companies do too. When they start to gnaw they'll get a bunch of hot pepper which they do not like. You'll have to spray every day to keep it fresh and hot. Once you have broken the habit you can spray once a week for a while in case he tries in the future. After a month or so you can usually quit altogether. You can get the spray at a good lawn %26amp; garden center
eat out!@
Red pepper sprinkled around your sills.
Pellet gun.
Get a dog....or a gun....or even a cat, my sister's cats eat squirrels all the time.
Try spraying the screens with vinagar
I don't have any squirrel problem, but I do have a problem with the cats climbing the screens...tear them up in no time. I got some ';hardware cloth'; to cover the screening. It's a heavy gauge wire mesh, the squares per inch are almost the same as regular screening. It doesn't replace the regular screen, but protects it. You can screw or staple it down on the outside of your house, or if you want it to look better, make a frame for it that you can attach on the outside of the house. 44 cats have not been able to make a dent in this stuff, it's tough! It ought to be able to withstand a squirrel with ease.
You have to be joking. You actually have squirrels that are breaking and entering your home,,,,maybe they are after your nuts
get you shotgun ready
Try to chase them away
A .22?
get a rubber snake and put it where they are comin in
get a box of moth balls and set them like 4-5 to make the smell strong and set it in the window sills everyone the spuirrel is getting in to...this one stop the beast in his track also for addtional take the moth ball and rub it all over the screen really good .....good luck
I have never heard of this problem, but no doubt it exists. Do they want food, shelter or are they curious? Our squirrels come up to the back door so we will give them some seed. They are afraid to come into the house. But, they do come into the attic for warmth.
The guy next door to me trapped and killed them. I think you could buy a havahart trap which will not harm them and take them to an open space. Another option is that you can buy 50 lbs of birdseed at Wal-Mart and set it out and see if they stop trying to get into your house. If they want warmth, once I built a tiny wooden house and put an electric blanket in it for a pet. Perhaps that would work.

If you dropped $100 and a squirrel ran off with it...what would you do?
Wear a squirrel costume and try to ';sweat-talk'; a date with the squirrel and then find my money and ditch the bast***!If you dropped $100 and a squirrel ran off with it...what would you do?
I'll be really pissed, cause it's nearly impossible to catch a squirrel. Especially if it's up in a tree.
I guess I'll have to call my UFO friends from outer space. If you dropped $100 and a squirrel ran off with it...what would you do?
Follow the squirrel while blubbering like a baby in the hopes that it would drop it so I could get it back.
Try to knock out the squirrel by throwing something at it. I know I couldn't run fast enough to catch it.
Grab a ladder, climb up the tree he ran in and choke the little rat
Nice .pic on your prof,id try to lure the squirrel with some cholate almonds
chase the little bugger
Pull out my shotgun and make plans for squirrel and dumplins for supper.
trade it for the nuts and berry's in my lunch
run after it
Wish I had my 100$ back
i would shoot it
thats my dang money

What can i feed this baby squirrel??
ive been feeding an orphaned baby squirrel store-bought hilands milk?..ive been reading around and i came across something that said COWS MILK CAN KILL IT!!?? i freaked out and panicked..
can you really not feed milk to a squirrel?..is hilands milk considered cow milk in this case?
if not milk what can i feed it?..(for ex. juice, water, gatorade?)
I NEED YOUR HELP TO SAVE THIS BABY.
it has all its fur but its eyes arent opened yet..What can i feed this baby squirrel??
The milk we drink tends to constipate animals. The sell canned milk especially for baby kittens that might be ok! I think pretty much all milk these days is made from cows and I don't think it will hurt your squirrel. Do your research! Look up everything you can on orpahned squirrels and squirrels in general. Do the best you can and if he doesn't pull through remember its not your fault and you had the best of intentions. Contact wildlife management and ask them some questions they may be able to help. What can i feed this baby squirrel??
I hope you change the milk or the little thing is going to die!
give it nuts or dirty water. its only naturality
get some KMR which is kitten formula and ask your Vet what supplements to add to that. If it's eyes aren't opened or they are just barely, you will need to help it go to the bathroom, too.
Each time you feed it, before and after feeding, massage where it goes potty (both places) with a dampened soft cloth to stimulate it to go.
I used just KMR to raise a 2 day old baby raccoon. The best advice you can get is from a local wildlife rehab organization. Call your local city animal control or a local animal shelter to find out where one is in your area if you can't find one in the phone book or online phone listing.
The raccoon I raised did fine.
There is milk replacer for kittens, puppies, orphaned racoons, stuff like that at pet stores. Petsmart has some! My vet also has some.
GOAT MILK . YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY IT AT THE STORE IN THE BABY SECTION. I HOPE YOU HAVE BEEN KEEPING IT WARM AND HYRDATED. IF YOU KNOW OF A VET FOR EXOTIC ANIMALS, OR IF THERE IS AN ENVIROMENTAL CENTER. PLEASE CONTACT THEM AT ONCE FOR ADVICE. THERE ARE VOLUNTEERS THAT TAKE CARE OF WILD ANIMALS. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU DO EVERYTHING CORRECTLY OR THE BABY COULD DIE. I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THEM AND COULD GIVE YOU A LOT MORE ADVICE IF YOU NEED IT. GOOD LUCK!
Peanut Butter
there is a commercial kitten formula available at watmart and pet stores called KMR[kitten milk replacement] or if you can find it, use goats milk, I but it at our local grocery
You need to immediately contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You can find one here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.鈥?/a>
These people have the specialized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. They also have the state and federal licenses required to keep wild animals until they are healthy enough to be released back into the wild.
I think you have to get cats milk. You should be able to get it at your vets or some pet stores.
I hope things work out. We've had two pet squirrels and it was great.
I really don't know much about animals, but you should read this.
http://www.mary.cc/squirrels/foundababy.鈥?/a>
Ok- there's a formula at pet stores- it's KMR but for DOGS not kittens, and that's what you want to use.
For now you can get goats milk in the canned milk (baking)
section of the grocery store.
No cows milk. No kitten milk. The KMR for Dogs will say squirrells in the label somewhere.

:)How do I keep squirrels from climbing on my bird feeders and eating all the feed?
I just saw a product at Walfart that is a powder you sprinkle in the bird seed. Sfe for birds, squirrels stay away. Or soft air gun...lol j/kHow do I keep squirrels from climbing on my bird feeders and eating all the feed?
they make feeders that are squirrel proof I found them at walmart
Cover the feeders.
buy a squirell proof bird feeder (not the kind that fling the squirell) or set out peanuts and nuts elsewhere in your yard for the squirells
umm you dont ........they eat the same stuff so just get over it.
lol buy a bebe gun and make a example out of one of those suckers my father use to do it. oh we use to eat the squirrel for dinner lol no joke
Awwww.. poor squirrels are always left out. Give seperate bowl for them will ya?
Apply two or three rings of double-sided tape near the bottom of the pole or tree.
They make plastic things for that and they sell them everywhere. Like Walmart, hardware stores, etc.. Or you could just make your own by cutting out a circle of heavy plastic- like the bottom of a cheap pail, and putting it on the feeder post under the feeder. It makes the squirrel fall down.
You can check out this long guide at
http://birdfeeders.101freeguide.com/Squi鈥?/a>
Cut the bottom out of a plastic milk jug and put it midway between whatever the feeder is attached to and the feeder, with the open part facing the ground.
ok there is a special feeder called a squirrel proof feeder it flings the squirrel which can be entertaining but its like 60 $
BUT..there are alot of things you can do.

How many nipples does a squirrel have?
Depending on the species, female squirrels have 8 to 10 nipples. How many nipples does a squirrel have?
Eight....see last line under ';Reproduction';:
http://www.ksr.ku.edu/libres/Mammals_of_鈥?/a>How many nipples does a squirrel have?
I'm guessing one nipple for each baby, so I would have to say 4. I wouldn't think that squirrels have more than 4 babies at a time if that.
lolz, prolly like 4 or 6 do some research and see the average how many babies squirrels have if the average is 4 then your best bet would be that they have 4 nips
What brought this question on a little random!! Its usually six i think. But sometimes there can be runts who have more or less.
5? duh?...
my guess is 6

I'm guessing one nipple for each baby, so I would have to say 4. I wouldn't think that squirrels have more than 4 babies at a time if that.
lolz, prolly like 4 or 6 do some research and see the average how many babies squirrels have if the average is 4 then your best bet would be that they have 4 nips
What brought this question on a little random!! Its usually six i think. But sometimes there can be runts who have more or less.
5? duh?...
my guess is 6
How do you skin a squirrel?
The hardest part is the initial cut. I've found the best way to do this is to grab a flap of skin on its back and cut right across it. Then you can put both hand your hands into the cut and pull back in both directions (toward the front and toward the back). Sometimes the skin will pull off easily, other times not so much. If you are having a hard time it helps to use a sharp knife to cut some of the tough tissue holding the skin to the muscles. Another thing I do is actually cut off the squirrel's head with a hatchet, this saves you the trouble of trying to pull the skin over the head, unless of course you want to save the skin and make it look nice. How do you skin a squirrel?

Squirrel poll: Which do you like better?
The boring brown ones, grey ones, black ones or the white Sqwerl.Squirrel poll: Which do you like better?
i like them all... it's a veritable squirrel orgy in my tree...
edit: *flirts with Fired my guardian Angel...*Squirrel poll: Which do you like better?
A cool squirrel is a cool squirrel, regardless of color! :-)
I like squirrels!
I like the black ones and the little red squirrels. They taunt my dog and it's kind of hilarious.
I prefer chipmunks.
In vancouver they had black squirrels. Those fuckers were the size of cats. For reals and stuff.
The white one!!!!
He's my favorite.
*loads rodent gun*
I like yours
I prefer beavers
I mostly Love Scooter. He is a sweet bud.

What, would you say, the squirrel would do?
He would say, ';but bullwinkel, that trick never works';.What, would you say, the squirrel would do?
If 'the squirrel'; is anything like the squirrels living in my trees it would spend hours attempting to get into the bird feeder(The weight activated spinning feeder gives me hours of squirrel flinging entertainment) then steal the dog's food..What, would you say, the squirrel would do?
hide his nuts...
Something bad, no doubt... being the Worst Squirrel Ever and all...
Just a little more and they will kneel before me and thank me, for I am the provider of peanuts and the caretaker of 2 large black walnut trees. Their walnut stained paws and mouths will praise me as a GOD!!! BWAH Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!
Throw huge, damn acorns at all the religious and non-religious nutjobs, and hopefully on their heads so it knocks a little sense into those empty spaces.
Looks like you have already been well documented. Enjoy

Just about anything, I suspect! The Fuzzy Tail is quite a little trickster.
If I was a man, I'd make the joke about stealing my nuts.
huh?
Curl up in a little ball, cover his eyes with his tail, and go to sleep before he asks too many dumb questions in the middle of the night. ;-)
Gather his nuts and wave his bushy little tail in the air while the dogs attempt to catch him but always end up running into the tree.
He would proudly wave his tail to the other squirrels as an invite to come to his tree for dinner......then perhaps a movie after.

It's on my bracelet; it's how I live my life.
Gather his nuts while he may.
the squirrel walked into a bar and asked, *has my dad been in here today?*
the bartender said, *i don't know. what does he look like?*
As all squirrels must: fly through the arbor like a ninja in a bamboo forest.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of squirrels from chewing through my soffits to get in the attic???
I have put metal screening up but they are chewing through the wood around it. They have also chewed through shingles on roof creating a hole!!!!!! Please help!!!Does anyone know how I can get rid of squirrels from chewing through my soffits to get in the attic???
Their noses are fairly sensitive. I've heard of using moth balls to chase them away. I've put in a link to a company that sells a rodent chasing powder.
But if you can find a better way to block them, that will help. I know for urban mice problems the solution is to stuff fine grade steel wool into their holes. It hurts their mouths and discourages them from chewing around the old hole. I had to pack it tightly into the hole so it would expand if they tried chewing around it. This might work in your case too.Does anyone know how I can get rid of squirrels from chewing through my soffits to get in the attic???
Go to www.Rataway.com Rataway stops squirrels, rats, mice, coyotes,
woodpeckers,dogs,cats,puppy'鈥?etc..from chewing
Rataway is a non-poisonous spray.Protects car engines %26amp; wiring,homes,
business,boats,equipment motor homes,etc.. safe around children,pets,
service personal cost $25.00
Get an estimate for having new soffit (vinyl) and facia (aluminum) installed on your eaves. They won't chew through those.
they make these things that you plug into an outlet that let off high pitched noises that only rodents can hear. they are usually desgined for mice, but i don;t see why they wouldn;t work on a squirrel. plug one in in your attic and see if they scatter.
Are you adverse to cats? Adopt a young one from your local shelter and watch the squirrels vacate the block. Or you can go to your local hunting store and purchase some predator pheremones like coyote or wildcat. These will also cause a mass exodus of nuisance varmints.
try looking in websites for getting rid of squirrels
Use mothballs. Spread them around the roofline areas of the attic. They can smell them from the outdside and won't want to come inside your attic. It's cheap, safe and easy to do.
It won't have any impact at all. If you chew through your soffits, that's just going to encourage them, probably.
Make a squirrel feeder in the yard. It might help to distract them from they to get whatever they wanted. lol
I once had squirrels going into my shed. They were eating thru the top of the wooden door. I bought a wide roll of two sided tape and a big jar of cyannne pepper. I put the tape where I thought they would come in and sprinkled liberally the up side (also sticky remember) with the hot pepper. Once they burned they snout they never came back good luckzits

Can u tame a wild squirrel if so how?
ok so ive caught a squirrel and he seems pretty calm just a little catious of hands can i tame him hes full grownCan u tame a wild squirrel if so how?
It is illegal to take animals from the wild and keep them as pets. What you can do is release him back where he belongs and check your state, city, and county laws to see if you can even buy one there. If it is legal, don't be cheap and buy one. Good luck!
**When, not if, he decides to bite... have fun with it. A squirrel bite hurts like crazy from a baby... I'd hate to get it from an adult. Can u tame a wild squirrel if so how?
Careful they can carrie rabies. I had a pet squirrel but its illegal to keep one pined up (well in oklahoma it is). Just don't let any one and every one hold him until he is completely trusting of you and you know when he has had enough of something. You don't want him to bite and then something bad could happen.
It is illegal in all states to take an animal from the wild and keep it as a pet...
You can buy one from a breeder that has been imprinted at birth..and they make wonderful pets..
But a wild squirell at some point will get starttled or upset and bite you..they carry dieases and did I mention it will hurt and it will not turn loose?
Let the squirell loose and buy a tame well imprinted one...

Did the police have probable cause to pull me over just because I purposely swerved to hit a squirrel?
The cops pulled me over after he saw me do this. Should I contest my ticket?Did the police have probable cause to pull me over just because I purposely swerved to hit a squirrel?
they should have ticketed the squirrel for failure to yield right of way.Did the police have probable cause to pull me over just because I purposely swerved to hit a squirrel?
They were right.
By all means contest it but the court is very likely to give a heavier sentence than your ticket!
Try taking driving lessons as you sound as though you do not understand why what you did is wrong!
I don't think they should have if there was no oncoming traffic. I guess maybe they are not fond of squirrels.
Yes they have cause. Not only were you abusing animals, but you swerved which is a danger to yourself and others.
Hmm.. yeah, sounds like inattentive driving... ';any driver whose negligent inattention or driving error causes a collision with a fixed object, animal or other roadway user'; yup, that's you alright.. except yours was intentional.
Better look in your rear view mirror a lot more because I have a feeling a PETA van is coming up behind you FAST!
the squirrel really didn't have anything to do with it. He pulled you over for ';unsafe movement';. You can try and fight it, but you will lose.
What a pathetic thing to do. However, I did actually once get pulled over because I swerved to AVOID a deer. The cop was a bit of a jerk, but eventually I talked my way out of a ticket.
no they should have pulled the squirrel over!!
wait...did u swerve to avoid the squirrell, or to hit it? because if you swerved to hit it, that would be just morbid and evil. what did that squirrel ever do to you? Poor thing probly went into cardiac arrest!! but if that was aa typo and you swerved to avoid it, you are a very good person and that cop is evil and morbid!!

There is a hurt baby squirrel in my driveway...?
he seems to be crippled, everytime he goes to walk he falls sideways, and i don't know what to do..i feel so bad for him because he can't really move and he has been sitting out there for hours..is there anything i can do?There is a hurt baby squirrel in my driveway...?
wow why do you even post here the majority of these people are demented morons.. what happened with the squirrelThere is a hurt baby squirrel in my driveway...?
Off the top of my head you could call the local Audubon society. Even though they deal with birds mostly, they could point you in the right direction of an organization that would help. Also--is there a local wildlife refuge near you? Or a zoo? I would think that would be some good places to start.
And I agree with you about it not being funny. Joking about a baby aminal in distress isn't cool at all. It's frikkin' lame. I don't care if this IS p%26amp;s people like that are bottom feeders.
pick him up with thick gloves on, put him in a cardboard box with newspaper, a little thing of water and food. then look up for and call a squirrel/small animal refuge in your region, they do exist
Either take him in and take him to a vet ( I did that with a baby skunk once), or shoot it with a pellet gun or something and put it out of its misery. I know it's sad, but it's better than letting it go.
Take the squirrel to the vets, that's what they're there for! Phone them up first so you know what to do.
Run over it!
I'm just kidding, but really don't ask this sort of stuff in P%26amp;S.
We're vicious, heartless people.
Ask it in Women's Health lol.
Aww, there's really not much you can do. I would say taking it out of the driveway. It will be preyed upon if you just leave it there.
Take it in and see what you can do for him. I mean, I don't know. I would at least try to do something.
my mama has the best recipe for hurt baby animals. wrap animal in foil. use hair dryer to warm it up and bring it back to life. it'll be healthy again!
Don't worry: eventually a neighborhood cat will take care of it.
Just sayin'...
just leave him like that.
you can't do anything.
he can be full of rabies.
Try and save him! Put him in a box and use gloves feed him and take him to a near vet (try finding one near your area, look on phone books or online ) or he will likely die in the next few hours!
Nothing.
Put its out of its misery by stepping on it, and throw it away.
have squirrel pie 2 nite
You could always take it to the vet.
*loads gun*
*nods head*
take it inside and let it die comfortably in a padded shoe box...
Sounds like the supper bell is ringing to me
I'd call pest control,
you don't want to take any chances.
call the aspca maybe.
Aw. Thats so sad.
D:
You could get him to a vet... idk.
Kick him
shoot him and put him out of his misery.
this is a serious answer!
put your vet skills to good use and nurse it back to health
eat em.
they make good bar b que
ITS JUST POSING!

I've heard about one squirrel chasing another in a spiral.?
And, that being the optimal way of chasing and hiding. Like, at any point the chaser seeing only a minimum part of the and still that being the optimal distance around the cylinder (tree). Any more light on that? Links? (Apologize for the vague description)I've heard about one squirrel chasing another in a spiral.?

We have just rescued a squirrel,?
But don't know exactly whats wrong with it. We know how to keep it stable, and we know for sure that its dehydrated, by the skin test, and we have been feeding it water and such through an eyedropper. It has a cut on it's nose, and were not exactly sure if it was from a fight, or if it may be rabes. It seems as though sometimes it has this moment where she spazzes out.she straightens her arms down and lifts her legs up toward her face, throwing her head back. We can get her to calm down, but she also seems to grit her teeth. Shes sweet, and doesn't care if we pet her, at all. Of course, we do take precautions. We found her laying on the sidewalk with her tail over her head. Any suggestions or help that may save this squirrels life, or keep her stable.
Her name is Strawberry. And she is in need of help.We have just rescued a squirrel,?
Try going to the store and in the pet food section get a bottle of kitten formula. Try giving the squirrel some in the syringe. Or try seeing if it will eat creamy peanut butter. Squirrels LOVE peanut butter. Other than that, I'm sure if you call a vet or local animal control tomorrow they can offer you a suggestion. Hope the little one pulls through!
It is normal for rodents to grit their teeth, but as far as the fits I am not sure. It could either be scared or in pain. Judging by the scratch on his nose he may have been through a scuffle with a cat or something. The best thing you can do is comfort him and try to get nourishment in him!We have just rescued a squirrel,?
She probably ran into a car wheel and bounced off. Keep her warm and in a quiet dark place, don't pet her it's more stress for her, you are the enemy to her. She may be rabid and already having convulsions. Take her to a wild life sanctuary or a Vet. You can't fool around with what might be plague, or rabies.
it would save its life because if you would of left it it would of died so you did the right thing.
How old is it?
I rescued one and it was only a few days old. It was a job to take care of him but he was great. His name was Nutty Buddy. I had to bottle feed him puppy milk and he loved baby food. Applesauce and Bananas.
As far as the grinding of teeth, Ours did that and it also spazzed out too. I think that is just their nature. If you watch them outside, they are pretty spazzy little guys. If it is not a newborn, you might try to give it some small nuts. I think I would take him to the vet in the morning and have him checked out to make sure it has no internal injuries from a fall or a fight.
I wish you the best of luck and your new friend~~
SAME exact thing happened to us. Care is critical for squirrels. Even people who professionally care for them can't save each one. They have to be fed every couple of hours (just like a baby), including through the night by dropper. You have to go very slow and make sure they are in a position where they can swallow with ease. If they get too much that thy cant swallow (this also happened to us and we were super slow with the dropper) it will hit their respitory system and potentially cause more problems. We used kitten milk in the pet isle as we were instructed, which he gobbled right up. Anyhow, even after 24/7 care he went downhill QUICK. We rushed him to an emergency vet who took in wild animals at no charge of course. They had someone who would come in and pick these types of animals up. Someone who had alot more experience. And, like I said....even with an experienced person it's a high risk that they will even live. Squirrel was the sweetest thing in the world that I longed to keep as a pet. However, I realized that through my own selfishness ( I should have found a wild animal specialist but wanted to keep him and care for him) this animal probably died. And now, I have to live with that. So, I would urge you to do the same and call around to find a place that takes wildlife in (and is familiar with baby squirrels). Places like animal control, vet offices, etc. are going to be familiar if any certain person around handles issues like this. Squirrels have been successfully raised by the average joe, but it's just one of those chance things. My friend had raised a squirrel from birth and he is 7 years old now. She helped me to raise the one we found as well. So, it's not that we didn't do something right or didn't educate ourselves thouroughly before taking that responsibility on. We read up on everything we could, but skipped the ';turn it in to wildlife specialists'; part. I wish you lots of lucky with your furry counterpart.
Take her to a vet
Take her to the vet. I had a squirrel that we rescued when I was a kid. Great pet.
I know its the standard response for these types of things, but, seriously...
Get to a Vet!
You should take her to the vet to see if she needs help. Then you can release her back into the wild.
we used to have chipmunks when we where young kids and my uncle has his squirrel he rescued and from what you are describing it does not look all that good. It may be that her back may have been injured when it recieved the cut on its nose and if that is the case there is nothing that will save the lil girl sadly. can also check her for ticks as that will affect its health to death and if it is ticks they can be removed with the sulfer of a match after you blow it out so there is no flame by putting it to the butt of the tick so it will back out . Make sure if you do take out ticks you destroy them so they dont end up on your or any kids or animals that are around . if it is ticks the squirrel will recover but is slow unless its to far gone . sorry is all i know to help but i do wish Strawberry luck and hopes she gets better. ALso you might want to keep to many hands from petting her as she will be scared and you dont want her to have a heart attack .
Call your local wildlife rehabilitation clinic or control. If you can't find the number call your animal control or shelter and they'll refer you to the proper place.
They will be able to give you all the important information to keep him alive.
good grief i hope you don't get bitten.maybe a dog or cat attacked her
Your know, my firend actually just did the same thing, saved a squirell. But the best thing for it is to do waht your doing and then find a wildlife home, they will take it in and take care of it and when its strong they will call you and you can set it free... good luck and be sanitary they do carry massive diseases!
u need to take her to a licenced rehabilitator. i think its against the law to keep it urself because u found her in the wild. my friend once found a duckling they took her to the vet but the duck couldnt be seen because it was wild. if u care about the squirrel at all u will take her to a professional rehabilitator because if u dont she will probably not make it.
im not sure if its under the same circumstances, but my ferret got extremely dehydrated and while we were rehydratingn it, it would spaz and grit it's teeth, i think because it was have all the nutrient rushing back into her. maybe the squirrel you found was dehydrated, i dont know, but my ferret survived.=] goodluck. the best thing would be to take it to a vet though ;]zits

Can i use practice arrows to kill bunnies or squirrels?
can i use practice arrows on a compound bow with 22 lbs draw back and 65% let off to kill some small game? i dont want to buy expensive arrows and was wondering if these arrows could kill small game. please if you arnt going to give me an answer to post anything. the arrows i am talking about are the ones with the rounded heads. or the ones that are sharp but not sharp enough to pierce the skin if i tried to stab you with it.Can i use practice arrows to kill bunnies or squirrels?
Buy some bludgeons they work a treat on vermin and can be bought at the same weight as your field points. You just unscrew the field point and screw in the bludgeon. Or on the cheap you can use the brass pistol case glued to the front of the arrow but they are not removable and they are not weight matched to your field points and will follow a different trajectory. Can i use practice arrows to kill bunnies or squirrels?
Yeah everybody has pretty much said it- it's not a good idea. It's the responsibility of every hunter of all game to kill the animal as quickly as possible. Does this always happen, of course not, things happen. But to go out and use something that will not work all that well isn't a good idea unless we are talking about some sort of survival situation. A person needs a LOT of practice to use a bow on small game. Not trying to lecture you, just save you some complications and wounded animals in the future. Have a good hunt when you do go.
lol You must not know much about bowhunting.... first of all the arrow doesn't kill the animal, the broadhead does. And no, don't shoot an animal with a fieldpoint (the dull one that is typically black and rounded to a point that you practice with) all it's going to do is wound it, it will not die. Go buy a small game broadhead. You can get 2 reusable ones at Bass Pro Shops for 8 dollars (I work there, so I know)
You can buy a couple of blunt tips.. they are round rubber screw in tips that will kill a small animal but not stick into a tree or the ground if you miss. You can also buy judo points that do the same thing but do not last as long as a blunt tip. Should only be a couple of bucks.
not very humane. if you hit them anywhere other than the head they will just run off with your arrow sticking out of them.
a blunt tip will transmit some shock %26amp; kill quicker.
if you cant afford ';blunt'; arrows find some empty brass center fire cartridges that will just slide over your arrow heads %26amp; crimp or tape them on the arrow.
practice arrows kill of shock you WILL waste your arrows on squirrels becase they are tough get a pellet gun or 22 rifle for them but cotton tail a snowshoes die from shock with a 15 lbs bow and for future refrence kid the flat heads are called blunts and the almost sharp ones are called feild points
Honestly you are a pretty sick person if you want to shoot bunnies and squirrels with arrows. Real hunters actually hunt deer; not cute animals. I mean deer are cute but they need to be hunted not bunnies.

Why is it my cat does not hunt squirrels?
I let my cat go outside all the time and she likes to hunt insects and mice and chase birds. I dont want my cat to hunt squirrels but I am just wondering why she doesn't care about sqirrels being on her territory. Why is it my cat does not hunt squirrels?
Have you ever seen a squirrels teeth and claws?!?!
No cat in it's right mind will take on an adult squirrel more than once. Cat's may not have the largest brains but they are not stupid. My cats chase squirrels but make no attempt to actually catch them. They have learned the hard way that you don't take on prey with longer teeth than you have. Why is it my cat does not hunt squirrels?
Cats usually don't like squirrels. If they don't bother them, they have no need to hunt them. They usually like smaller animals, but if they are use to eat regular cat food then they won't usually hunt often.
My cat runs at squirrel sometimes but I think their size is intimidating. They might just fight back! My other cat is really odd. She ignores all birds except the Jays. I think she loves the loud squawk they make when she startles them.
because squirrels are too big for her to chase. You wouldn't want her messing with a squirrel anyway, they have a nasty bite!
Not to sure, personally i think that a squirrel is so fast that a cat doesnt even bother.
Maybe she is a pacifist:) or maybe she doesn't want to risk catching one and getting hurt. Smart kitty.
a cat is no match for the strength, speed and cunning of a wily squirrel.
They are good buddies. You should see what happens when you're not there. I know .... I own a carrel.
your cat is a secret member of PETA....
he doesn't like them.

Can you kill a squirrel with .22 rat-shot?
well it all depends on wat province u live in chek out your province's 2008 hunting regulations book.
I've skinned a squirrel and I've got a pelt what do I do with it? ?
Is there anything I can make out of it? Right now it's just kind of lying around (in a safe place)I've skinned a squirrel and I've got a pelt what do I do with it? ?
Before the pelt goes sour, you have two basic options. One is to preserve it with salt or what-have-you while you gather the facilities to tan it, or go ahead and tan it improvising what you need from commonly available supplies. The easiest and some say best tanning agent commonly available is diluted sulfuric acid from a junk car battery, diluted 1:10 with tap water or so. Tanning times vary considerably, depending largely upon whether you first washed the grease out of the hide with strong detergent such as for dishwashing, so the tanning chemical would penetrate better. Also, how worn out was the battery, as that somewhat consumes acid content in the electrolyte. Make sure no traces of meat remain on the hide. If the hide won't become flexible with aggressive working (after neutralizing in a baking soda bath and drying), it wasn't tanned enough, and back in it goes! If the hide goes to pieces, it was over-tanned. Only experience and caution can guide you to reliable success, and you should expect to screw up your first attempts. Regards, Larry.I've skinned a squirrel and I've got a pelt what do I do with it? ?
A squirrel pelt isn't much. People who tie flies can often use the tail hair. Mepps lures, will buy squirrel tails but they are not interested in a single tail. They are looking for several tails in good condition. I don't know what you can do with just one pelt. I duppose you could try tanning it just for practice. Then when you get a larger pelt that is worth tanning, you will know how to do it. If you want to cure it, put a heavy layer of a mixture of salt and alum on the flesh side and let it set for a couple of days. Remove all of the salt and alum mixture and replace it with a fresh coat. Let this set for a week or so and then remmove it. At this point, the hide will be cured but stiff as a board. Now the work begins. Get a baseball bat that has a smooth end and place it upright in a secure way so that you can work your hide over it. Apply a couple coat of Neatsfoot Oil (on ther shoepolish isle in Wal-Mart or your local grocery store) to the hide and work it in real good. Not take you hide and start to work it ove the end of the bat just as if you were polishing the end of the bat. Sort of like polishing shoes. Keep working the hide and adding Neatsfoot Oil until the hide is soft. What you are doing is working in the oil tohelp soften it and breaking down the collogin that is making it hard. it is a long ans slow job so keep at it until you have a nice soft hide.
You need to make the hide bone dry or bacteria will begin to make it go bad. Dry the fur best as possible, then attach it with pins to a board in a cool dry place. Reverse the hide every 24 hrs until totally dry and stiff as a board. If you detect any smell of decay, use NON-iodized salt to kill the bacteria.
Even as highly salted hide will eventually go rotten due to mold and fungus. You need to ship it off to a tannery.
Hope this helps

I have a vegetables garden, and hundreds of squirrels. How can I keep them from eating everything?
Try a chicken wire cage around all your vegetables. This may not be feasible though, depending on the size of your garden.I have a vegetables garden, and hundreds of squirrels. How can I keep them from eating everything?
Urinate around the perimeter of your vegetable patch - it is an effective deterrent to most forms of wildlife including cats and dogsI have a vegetables garden, and hundreds of squirrels. How can I keep them from eating everything?
Sprinkling crushed red pepper flakes will keep squirrels out by day and rats out by night. I get the big container from the wholesale club, you know the one I mean?
You'll have to refresh it every few days. Sprinkle around the perimeter and down the rows
Remember to Feed The Squirrels, away from your garden.
feed them . set out some feeders and in the garden put out some pie pans on poles and string . but feed them they are hungry and your garden is food . if you feed them they will keep the birds away and snakes . so be a true friend to nature and remember only you can feed a squirrel
Theres a couple things you can do....
Tie pie pans ( the disposable kind) on strings around the garden.. they bang and reflect which scares them.
Have someone pee around it ( they'll smell it and see it as a territorial markings of a larger animal) Sometime HAIR clippings in stockings works too.
OR buy a battery operated water proof radio and leave it on in the garden.. the noise will scare them.
Or do all the above.
You won't be able to as you have far too many squirrels in your area. An abundance of food and lack of predators is the cause of this.
So you have to control them yourself. The best method of control is with a Kania Trap 2000. You can google it.
spray plants with red pepper spray
you can make your own by putting 1 cup crushed red peppers(ground up is better) into 1 gallon of boiling water.
let it sit until cooled, strain our chunks, add 1tsp of dish soap.
place mothballs near target plants.
hang fabric softener sheets around perimeter.
spray ammonia on the ground near the plants
make sure acorns and other natural foods are not dropping into or near your garden.zits

Is there a non-violent way to stop squirrels from digging up my plants on my patio?
I tried mixing a little Cayenne pepper with water and poured it around my plants and it seemed to back off the squirrels.Try different amounts of pepper with the water until it works. Is there a non-violent way to stop squirrels from digging up my plants on my patio?
Get some male hairs and crashes cayenne pepper corns mix with top soil sprinkle at the surface area. Those little things will move away by the yards. Is there a non-violent way to stop squirrels from digging up my plants on my patio?
Get a dog?
Try chicken wire tied over the dirt part.
Scatter moth balls around the plants. They don't like the smell. You won't either but it fads to a acceptable level in a couple of days. You'll have to redo after hard rains or every few weeks. Usually once they get out of the habit they will leave things alone
if youre not ready to be ';violent'; with them, then they must not be that big of a problem to you. If it was a rat would you still want to be peaceloving? Squirrels are related to rats you know....it doesnt bother me, i eat em....seriously. Squirrels I mean.
Statue of an eagle, owl. Scares them for a bit... but if you dont move it every once and awhile, they catch on.
Well, this may be extreme..., but get or borrow a dog. Once the dog establishes it's territory the squirrels will stay away.
Hope this helps...

if youre not ready to be ';violent'; with them, then they must not be that big of a problem to you.
What function do squirrels serve in the ecosystem? Do they do anything useful or good?
Many, many things eat them!
That is very important.
They also bury nuts and sometimes don't dig them back up. This results in trees. What function do squirrels serve in the ecosystem? Do they do anything useful or good?

They may help to distribute or reseed trees. They may also convert nuts, etc. into eagle and other predator food.

Where can I get detailed info on flying squirrels as pets?
Any info I can find on them isnt very in depth and doesnt discuss a lot about caging and diet and whether they need company. Also, does anyone know if Eastern flying squirrels require the same diet as southern ones, and are they as tame? Help please! (and no ';you cant keep a squirrel as a pet';'s please!)Where can I get detailed info on flying squirrels as pets?
I think exotic nutrition has some good info on them. I know that martinscages.com sells special cages designed for flying squirrels.

What will keep squirrels out of my newly mulched flower beds?
To keep squirrels away from or keep them from eating your garden plants, mix this:
1 gallon of water
6 capfuls of Murphy's Oil Soap
2 Tbsp. of cayenne pepper
Spray onto plants. This does not harm the plants and WILL keep the squirrels away!zits

Is it normal to be sexually attracted to squirrels?
i see them in the park and i just get and erge to kiss them and. . . well you know.Is it normal to be sexually attracted to squirrels?
Skewirrel lovin' is some of the best in the world. Let a few have a party in your pants.
Is it normal, absolutely not.Is it normal to be sexually attracted to squirrels?
I wouldn't risk it because the squirrel might not fancy you back and may take offense at your amorous advances.
Maybe a few sessions of therapy might help you conquer your unusual desire.
hahaha what that's not normal at all like are you even human hahaha nobody has a sexually attraction to squirrels your are weird!
Sure it's normal. I don't see why homosexuality is ok yet beastiality is wrong.
Oh absolutely. Just remember to use acorn-scented aftershave and you should be fine.
Offer up you nuts maybe they will bury them on a hole somewhere!
Oh wait...you are nuts that is what I really meant to say!
LMFAO...hilarious!!!! I'd love to meet you if you're a girl.
Ofc not, give them all the nuts you got ;)

My CAT eats squirrels and leaves their legs scattered about the front yard..looks like squirrel pants!?
does your cat do this?My CAT eats squirrels and leaves their legs scattered about the front yard..looks like squirrel pants!?
bahahahaha!
poor squirrelsMy CAT eats squirrels and leaves their legs scattered about the front yard..looks like squirrel pants!?
Cats as part of their instinct, like to kill and drag the dead animal (or it's parts ) to the front door to show you what they've done. My friend had a cat that would kill rabbits and her cat dragged it from the front door to the back door. It looked like a massacre.
It's a cat's normal and natural behavior to do this; mine do it often.
The best thing to do is to praise the cat. It's not as if we're running out of squirrels.
Good kitty!
That's nasty!! But that's what cats do when they go outside. Keep her in if it bothers you.
Its icky and gross, but a sign of affection. Smile, clean it up, and thank your kitty. It means kitty loves you.
no but if it did id throw a bucket of water over it
Alot of animals will do this i think they do this because they think you deserve some of it or something but i have heard alot of stories about this. Its like they are leaving you a present.
Cats take a heavy toll on wildlife, you can put a bell on you pets collar and see if that helps. The critters he or she is chasing will hopefully hear him coming.

What is the best way to keep squirrels out of my peach trees?
To keep squirrels away from my birdfeeders, pond, and vegetables, I feed the squirrels. That's right! I installed a squirrel feeder on a pole at the FAR end of my yard and keep it filled with black-oil sunflower seeds. Not a single squirrel has ventured farther into my yard than their feeder in the past 2 years. The feeder doesn't attract more squirrels; it just feeds the ones that were already there when I moved in. This is much cheaper than shotguns, squirrel repellant, or traps. What is the best way to keep squirrels out of my peach trees?
Plant several acorn treesWhat is the best way to keep squirrels out of my peach trees?
you could try get squirrel repellents check out your local Lowe's or hard ware store and i found this site give it a read http://www.critter-repellent.com/squirre鈥?/a>
Short of buying a dog, the best thing to do is to build a squirrel shield out of sheet metal. It kind of looks like a tutu or an apron; you wrap it around the trunk of your tree several feet from the ground ~ the silly things can't crawl over it. I use it both on the trunk and the branch supports.
I KNOW THIS MIGHT SOUND LIKE IT DOEST WORK, but it really does, if you want to get rid of sqruiles you have to do one thing. You got to raise a space unicorn that likes to eat them. You have to feed the unicorn a little bit of squrill in his hay every day. And when he grows up hell be flying all over the place eating those little bastards.
Hope that helps :D
dunno I have that problem with my peartree I go out with the 22 and TRY to shoot them much to the delight of my dog who barks away like she is crazy lol
Did you know that if a dog shakes a sqiurrel that is alive it sounds JUST LIKE a squeeky toy lol
joke there
try maybe one of those motion activated owls!!!
BB gun :)
or try mounting a motion activated sprinkler.
If you look anything like your avatar then just stand by your tree and the squirrels will so distracted by your good looks!!!

Do you suppose a certain number of squirrels are assigned to each yard?
No, you have it backwards. It's one human yard to every six or seven squirrel nests. :)Do you suppose a certain number of squirrels are assigned to each yard?
noDo you suppose a certain number of squirrels are assigned to each yard?
Yes, six.
in different parts of the world there is.
just not where i live. i dont have any
i need trees
Hmmm i believe about 6 or 7. WE have about 7 at our house, we've actaully named them, there here so often.
Absolutely,I used to air-ate my lawn and now the squirrels dig so many hole that they do it for me.
haha, i've got dogs, so i've only got two, who are either brave enough or just too ignorant =D
Not Necessary..when you have a neighbor like me.
I looked at them, and said....gees they look hungry.....
so I threw out all my old bread, etc., to them,
every day......so each day more to come.....
I do have alot of trees in yard.
My neighbor asked me what am I doing??
Feeding these little critters........
Not good he said.....because just wait until they go after
the acorns.....and he was shooting them, because they were
crawling into the bird feeder.
Not that I want them killed......however, I did stop it.....only see one ot two now. My poor neighbors...suppose they moved to
the other homes.
No. Because they are all in my yard. At least they aren't in the attic of the house anymore.
Not officially, but there will only be as many there as the food supply supports. Otherwise, one or some will move on.zits

Do pet squirrels and ferrets get along?
I have 2 ferrets and Im trying to find another less common pet to be their new friend.Do pet squirrels and ferrets get along?
Dont get anything that is a prey animal, such as rabbits, chinchillas, squirrels etc. Ferrets are carnivores and it is their natural instinct to kill these animals.
Cats actually get along great with ferrets, they arent uncommon but they make good companions.Do pet squirrels and ferrets get along?
hmm, i wouldn't try it.
Squirrels are rodents, I believe, and ferrets really don't get along well with rodents.
Ferrets were originally used to hunt and kill rodents. People would have them in their house, and sailors would have them on their ships, so that they could get into little small places and kill rats and mice. Kinda like how some people keep cats nowadays to kill mice.
Honestly, ferrets get along best with ferrets. But if you want to try getting a different animal, you could always keep them separate.
Or I suppose, if you have your heart set on them being friends, you could put their cages close together, and see how they act towards eachother. Just don't let them run free with eachother until you know they get along, and I still wouldn't recommend any types of rodents.
Good luck though!

How can i get rid of yard squirrels?
I have some freakin squirrels eating their way into my roof and around my yard- state law says its illegal to kill the squirrel unless your going to eat them......
any suggestions? How can i get rid of yard squirrels?
by a gun or get a dogHow can i get rid of yard squirrels?
place a photo of you nude outside
Get yourself a live trap for squirrels. Bait it with chocolate. Drive far away to an urban area to release them.
well u could feed the squirrels corn (use a nail and corn comb) in or on a certain tree....bird feed works as well.....if they are tryin to eat through ur roof try using habanera sauce or Ropel spray u can also trap them ( u can get a trap from any farm store...yes totally legal....u can also make sure the entrance there tryin to get into is sealed
also u can use a predator unrine to in a way make the squirrel fear detour them from entering ur house....ro-pel is a good squirrel b gone way
Perhaps you should touch yourself vigorously at night instead of contemplating trivial rodent issues.
Do what ';JC'; says and you could end up with the EPA at your door with a big fine. In my state, you'll also be looking at 2 to 5 years in jail for animal abuse. Not to mention the fact that the anti-freeze will end up back into the water table.
I won't even began what I think about ';Borris';.
You sound like you're not happy but you don't really want to hurt the squirrels. It's true that you can start feeding them as far away from the house as possible. If you have trees, you can build squirrel houses for them and put them on the trees away from your house. Both of these will help if they are trying to get into your house because they are looking for food or shelter.
Another option, I don't know if you have a Harbor Freight Store or a farm store where you live, but you can get a ';Harold The Hoot Owl'; or two to place where the squirrels usually climb up. I believe that Menard's has them too. They take two AA batteries and they hoot whenever something pasts in front of them. They are a squirrels natural predator. You may want these things before going for the trapping.
Good Luck
Accidentally spill some antifreeze on a container and forget to pick it up
bust out the shotgun and your grill, man up
Once a squirrel ';group'; finds an area they like, it's really hard to get rid of them other then killing them or live trapping and removing them more then 5 miles away. If they are coming into the residence you will need to ';hardware cloth'; with extremely strong/thick material every crack and crease they have found. They will come back over and over and they are efficient at finding and chewing holes thru wood walls (especially Momma as she if trying to find a place to have her litter).

Why do squirrels pick something up, eat half of it, throw it away, and pick up another one to eat?
The squirrels take the nuts and pieces of fruit and other things that I leave out for them, they eat half of it or take a few bites, then they throw it away, pick up another item of the same type, eat half of that and throw it away, and this repeats. Why do they waste food? Why do squirrels pick something up, eat half of it, throw it away, and pick up another one to eat?
Maybe they have an instinct that they need to leave something to decompose (a natural compost pile).
Or maybe the other item looks better than the current one. You know how it is, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Why do squirrels pick something up, eat half of it, throw it away, and pick up another one to eat?
Because squirrels are a stupid kind of animal.
Something else will pick up the remainder. Squirrely logic.
Maybe they keep hoping that the fruit is healthy organic stuff, so they keep trying! Animals are pretty smart when it comes to food. The squirrels ate all the sunflower seeds we put out for the birds!!
They are wasteful and squirrely beasts!! Most of all, they just don't give a damn what anybody thinks!
Short attention span.
They waste because it's heavily abundant.
They didn't like the taste. DUH!
They try to eat as much as possible, and as quick as possible when the are spoilt for choice.
why do kids do the same???
Obviously the squirrels you are watching are male. It's a well known fact that males never finish ANYTHING.

Why dogs hate squirrel?
I watched UP, and I noticed that those dogs hate squirrel. I am from Philippines and a squirrel is never to be found here... I think squirrels are cute but I dont have any idea how they act... so I am being curious... Why dogs hate squirrel? Why dogs hate squirrel?
The reason for dogs chasing squirrels can be seen as primal instinct. Maybe they resemble cats. Maybe dogs envy them and their ability to climb amongst the trees. Who knows? Mostly squirrels chatter in the trees and make annoying sounds when they gnaw at nuts. I have not seen UP so I am not sure about the ';Hate'; part. Some people think that animals don't have free will, and that their Instinct controls them, making it impossible for them to hate anything. As for the dogs hating squirells in the movie, it could have just been the producers capitalizing on an idea. Why dogs hate squirrel?
They move?
Dogs have hunting instincts which is why dogs chase squirrels and cats and stuff like that.
They don't hate them they just have a natural instinct to chase them.
It is the dogs instinct to chase things so yup =)

They move?
Dogs have hunting instincts which is why dogs chase squirrels and cats and stuff like that.
They don't hate them they just have a natural instinct to chase them.
It is the dogs instinct to chase things so yup =)
I have squirrels climbing up my door wall screens. They urinate on them, any suggestions?

Can you legally shoot pidgeons, rabbits and squirrels on common land?
With an air rifleCan you legally shoot pidgeons, rabbits and squirrels on common land?
Bluecow has summed it up very well.
To the clowns that say gun's aren't allowed or you need a game licence dream on and get back to your xbox 360.
To carry a firearm in a park in London would attract the attention of an armed response unit in 10 seconds flat. Don't do it or you'll become a Yahoo headline! Can you legally shoot pidgeons, rabbits and squirrels on common land?
Common land does not mean that it is owned by the public, but it could be. There is always a landowner. Common land (to oversimplify) means that villagers have a right to graze their animals there, and certain other rights.
Squirrels are vermin. Wild birds are protected. Rabbits can be taken by the landowner or person authorised by him or her. The occupier of the land can authorise only one person other than himself to take game on the land with a firearm. A game licence is required.
The game laws are much more complicated than this, and it is worth reading a book on them.
Squirrel in most places is considered game, and has a season U need a license, rabbit is a varmint, and can be hunted anytime, still need a license, pigeon I am not sure. You need owners permission to hunt or shoot on there land, and only shoot it if you intend to eat it or it is destroying your property,in this case try to live trap it first and move it elsewhere
NO, coz common land means its not private land, the law states it very clear that you must have permission from the land owner before you shoot.
Where? Hunting law vary from place to place. In a lot of places you need a hunting licence of some sort to shoot varmints and small game.
I think you need a gun license but those animals dont have rights unfortunatley, but why would you do that anyways its cruel!
Bert says - Pidgeon?
Ernie says - You live in England. NO GUNS ALLOWED!zits

Any suggestions on how to keep the squirrels from stealing all the apples from my trees?
We have two apple trees in our yard and right before the apples are ready to pick the squirrels clean them off in a matter of daysAny suggestions on how to keep the squirrels from stealing all the apples from my trees?
put sheet metal around the base of your tree and then up towards the top...if they can't climb up they can't get your apples.....they make those cone things (they look like what a dog wears when he/she goes to the vet and needs to not be able to reach/bite at stitches) to go around the top so they can't get up...people use them on bird feeders to so they squirrels don't eat all the bird food before the birds get to it.Any suggestions on how to keep the squirrels from stealing all the apples from my trees?
PLACE A BARRIER AROUND THE TRUNK TO KEEP THEM FROM CLIMBING THE TREE.SOMETHING ROUND THAT IS LARGE ENOUGH TO PREVENT THEM FROM CROSSING.
go to your hardware store and but a round piece of metal and hang it upside down from the tree
There are things like repel at the local farm store or if you have a bulk foods counter where some spices are really cheap, you can dust with red pepper spray. As squirrels are mammals, the hot pepper will burn their mouths without harming them and make them drop the apple and run. They will learn that your tree is not exactly for them. It is not harmful to birds or the environment it just repels them like the expensive things do. I use it to keep cats and dogs from using my pathways through my yard in the winter as their litter box. They sniff and get a snoot full. You have to reapply every time it gets damp, but it is worth it to train the animals to go somewhere else.

Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?
Four light are mysteriously not working and I know we have at least two squirrels in the attic.Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?
During harsh winters with a lot of snow and no food for them they will eat the plastic and insulation off of wires. They even ate the rubber hose to my out door grill this winter. Check your service panel for tripped breaker or blown fuses. If they are tripped then leave them off and check the attic or call for electrical repairs. We found one cable eaten in 8 different locations so if you see one chew mark there could be more. Best to have an electrician check them out. Mice will also cause wire damage. If this is a problem you might want to replace the exposed cables with metal shielded. (BX) I found it cheaper to put out some corn way in the corner of the yard during severe weather. It is a cheap insurance policy. I hate squirrels but have learned that killing off 3, the next day you have the same number.Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?
Yes, Squirrels can effect your light(electric)They love to chew on wires just like mice do. I would get a registered electriction to check this problem out as Fires do start from bad wireing.. Be safe and do it now.. good luck
Everyone knows it takes 4 squirrels to power 4 bulbs. Get bigger ones if you only have two!
Sorry- just being a s.a.
The previous answer is right- the buggers love to chew wires.
Are they dead? If they chewed into the wires and shorted out a circuit then the breaker should be popped-off and and a dead squirl.
Squirrels can chew through the insulation of your wiring and short it out. I would check your fused and breakers in the distribution box first.
they will chew on wires. They will breed and the smell will be awful.

They are wild animals, and so you never know what they could carry.
It's still not safe to keep them as pets, so I strongly think you shouldn't keep one as a pet.
I have never heard that they do

What is a squirrel multiplied by a dog turd, divided by a corndog?
A hot, creamy, steaming turd chocked full of nuts and corn! Delicious with a side of rabbit poo and a nice warm cup of woodpecker wiz. Cheers! What is a squirrel multiplied by a dog turd, divided by a corndog?
prime rib in the Ozarks! What is a squirrel multiplied by a dog turd, divided by a corndog?
a hotdog?
one that doesn't flush
damn that corn and all those nuts !
A casserole?
You??
squirrel x dog turd
_______________
corndog
Rolf Harris
A tastey meat kebab?
George W Bush
Dunno but if one turns up on my plate, probably gonna send it back.
Right - if we attribute a number to each letter ( A=1, B=2, etc) and add them together:
a squirrel = 120
a dog turd = 90 and
a corndog = 77.
Therefore, 120 X 90 = 10800/77 = 140.25974
If we then attribute letters to each of those numbers (ignoring the zero and treating the decimal as a space) we are given AD BEIGD.
Which, I'm sure you will agree, is absolute nonsense!!!!!!
the answer is evidently a nutty hotdog that tastes like sh*t!zits

Best Pellet For Squirrel Hunting?
I'm gonna go squirrel hunting with an air gun and I was wondering what kind of pellet would make the fastest kill and would cause the squirrel the least suffering. A hollow point, a pointed tip, or a flat nosed. Also, what's the best brands?Best Pellet For Squirrel Hunting?
dont listen to that guy^^^ a pellet gun is definately powerful enough to kill a squirl. i use mine alot, and most of the time the pellet kills the squirl very quickly, and passes all the way through its head. it is an exelent choice for squirls, especially because it is quiet and doesn't scare them away.
I like to use the gamo ';domed'; pellets. i think they'er called hunters or something like that. they are designed to have high impact, and for small animals, they kill very fast. you know they work well when you can hear the loud ';smack'; when they hit the squirl.
if you want quick kills, go for head shots. with a scope it is very easy with an air rifle. basicly any pellet will kill almost instantly with a head shot.Best Pellet For Squirrel Hunting?
Iam going to sell every gun I got and I am going to buy me a pellet gun , a BB gun, and an air soft and go elephant hunting.
I would use the pointed tips. But for real success in squirrel hunting, take your bow with you, and pretend you're hunting for deer. Every squirrel within a five mile radius will come chatter at you. :)
I forget what exactly what brand makes them but I had some hollow point pellets that would mushroom a really big. I want to say that they were Gamo. A well placed .177 will do the trick, but it would be best, if possible, to use a .22 cal airgun for minimum suffering.
You should get the new Hooker flatnose from Heritage. It's a little different from the usual flatnose because of its diamond cut (no, not a real diamond). They cost a little more, but they're supposedly more accurate because it reduces 'wobble'.
I carried air rifles when I was 8 years old . If you kill one or wound one tell us what you will do next, use a 22 Rifle
For my .22 air rifle, I've had real good results using RWS Superdome and Superpoint pellets and also Beeman Crow-Magnum and Silver Arrow pellets. I usually take a few dozen squirrel per year and around or over 100 chipmunks.
Link below to the same pellets in .177 cal.

anything but the target pellets, you know the flat nosed ones... even though i have hunted with every type mentioned above, and it just depends on how good of a shot you are, i got quite a few squirrels with just the target pellets when i didn't have money for the pointed ones, and i had success...
Gamo and Beeman are better quality than Crosman. They fit tighter in the barrell which means they're more accurate. Any type of pellet will do but domed and pointed pellets (probably labelled ';hunting'; or ';magnum';) will do the best job. The more expensive hunting pellets will work good but the regular lead ones will also work just as good. You can find Gamo and Beeman hunting pellets just about everywhere including Wal-Mart.
Just make sure you make a decent shot and all pellets will make a quick and ethical kill that minimizes suffering.

I've planted a garden and i would appreciate hints on taking care and rid of pest(bugs, rabbits and squirrels
pest control suugestions, spacing, and general tips its my 1st gardenI've planted a garden and i would appreciate hints on taking care and rid of pest(bugs, rabbits and squirrels
plant a row of soy beans around the garden just for the rabbits %26amp; other pest. they love soy plants %26amp; they will leave your stuff alone.
I use fake owls %26amp; snakes to help with the pest. Put glass bottles with water in the garden, they will see their reflections %26amp; it scares them.I've planted a garden and i would appreciate hints on taking care and rid of pest(bugs, rabbits and squirrels
Well spacing depends on what kind of plants you have, like if you plant cucumbers make sure they have something to grow ';UP'; on. Meaning put long sticks or a treless in your garden for it other wise it will choke everything else in your garden. As far as the bugs try using a spray for bugs you can pick up at any home depot or walmart in the gardening dept, get the king for gardens it will kill all the different kinds that invade your garden but, use it sparingly cause if you over spray you'll damage your plants. For rabbits, and squirrels you can try using a wire mesh that you can wrap around the outer perimeter of your garden or use some ';chicken wire fence'; that should help keep them out. You can also get alot of helpful advice at your local gardening centers on fencing and chemicals to use to kill those bugs. Good luck with your green thumb.
Well, First of all, I would wait until you have a specific problem. Many plants are pest-free are disease free, at least relatively so. In fact, choosing plants that are compatible with your environment is the first step to success. For example, if you live in a hot dry place, choose plants that like it hot and dry. Otherwise, you fight an uphill battle trying to make plants happy in an environment that they are not compatible with. If they are weakened, then they are more suspectible to plants and diseases. Also, try companion planting. Companion planting involves putting two or more plants together that natrually repell the other plant's problem pests.
http://www.attra.org/attra-pub/complant.html#traditional
Also, make sure to fertilize your plants to keep them heathy, preferably with organic compost or other organic fertilziers such as fish oil. Try to stay away from harsh chemicals when you cam, they are bad for you to breath, not great for the environment, and can burn or damage your plants and beneficial insects too.
For pest and fungicide, I like garden safe products.
http://www.gardensafe.com/ProductCategories/
I have had good luck with the garden safe Neem product. It controls many common problems, such as pests like aphids AND diseases/problems like mold/virues/fungus.
For birds, you can use a some type of scare tactics. They do not like shiny objects, so you can tie tin foil or cut-up tin pie plates to a pole, like a bamboo piece stuck in the ground, or to a fence to scare them off. You can also use evil eyes such as these

Is it a sin to run over a squirrel on my way to work?
or do I get points for that.Is it a sin to run over a squirrel on my way to work?
its a sin if you put the car into reverse and try again!!Is it a sin to run over a squirrel on my way to work?
If you did it deliberately it would not be a ';sin,'; but the act of a sadist. You would deserve a swift kick in the ar*se. If it's an accident, well...accidents happen. Just pray the Lord's Prayer twenty times, add 12 Hail Mary's, say ';Forgive me, Jebus, Sky Daddy, and Holy Spit,'; and be truly repentant.
And the next time you're in Central Park, throw a peanut to the first squirrel you see - that's ';atonement.';
P.S. You lose 5 points for this silly question.
Was the squirrel on its way to a pro-gay rally or a Flying Spaghetti Monster convention? I think there are exceptions for killing *those* squirrels.
No points for a little squirrel, only rhinos or elephants count.
I don't know about it being a ';sin'; but I doubt if the squirrel liked being run over very much.
Points. You also get extra points if it was pushing a stroller, or wearing a nun's habit. Oh, wait, that's only for people...
the poor thing!
theyre so cuuuuuuuuuute
but they do carry some nasty diseases
to answer your Q..its a *sin*
Squirrels are small, 1 pt on accident, 2 pts on purpose.
did you do it on purpose? if yes then you are one cruel SOB. how would you like it if i run you over with my pick up?
you only get points if you were late for work.Otherwise you have the comsolation prize of roadkill
Points, big points.
Only if they're after your nuts!
was it accident or on purpose?
roadkill bud, scrape em' up, great for stew.
If you do it, it's on.
DO NOT mess with the squirrels :D

Who stole the Squirrel with the Suit & Hat's bag of Peanuts? Was it Paris Hilton? George Bush? Or ->?
Hillary Clinton?Who stole the Squirrel with the Suit %26amp; Hat's bag of Peanuts? Was it Paris Hilton? George Bush? Or -%26gt;?
I'm sorry! It was me. I was hoping you'd follow the scent to my place so I could hold you and pet you and love you. I just think you are so adorable.Who stole the Squirrel with the Suit %26amp; Hat's bag of Peanuts? Was it Paris Hilton? George Bush? Or -%26gt;?
It was me, I confess. I'm trying to lure the squirrel with the suit %26amp; hat over for dinner and a baseball game. Paris tried, but remembered at the last second that she doesn't like Peanuts. George also tried, but forgot he no longer can assemble an army, and had no clue how to go about it on his own. Hillary sent Bill to get them, but Bill stopped at the all you can eat China Buffet instead and missed out on the peanuts.
Hiliary
The other two aren't smart enough to steal anything without getting caught. Paris would be like ';That's hot and that's hotter';. Bush would be like ';Uhh , cool hat mine now and yum peanuts I'm going to make me a sammich.';
Hey it wasn't me, Scooter! But I did see Paris running the opposite direction with a bag of something sticking outta her purse...
Definitely Paris.
She's guilty.
They all had their hand in the bag looking for a freebie.Probably took the bag so they wouldn't leave a paper trail.
Hillary
Peanuts? Jimmy Carter
It was Bush he had a case of the munchies!
It was George...That ******* crackhead...
I thought you guys kept nuts buried around you so that this wouldn't be a problem?

If Paris Hilton took your nuts would you really want them back?

I have tomato plants in containers on my deck. How do I keep squirrels from stealing the tomatoes?
Use dowel sticks and hand those small pie plates that the tiny pies come in (snacks), on the dowel stick %26amp; stick them in your pot. It may look ugly but it works. I also spray WD-40 around the flower pot (NOT on the tomato plant) they hate the smell of it.
The hair thing, that a previous answer had, only helps to release nitrogen into your plants. It's good for them, but it will do NOTHING about squirrels.
Definately try these. This was my problem as well, until I started doing the pie plates %26amp; WD-40. No more squirels. Good luck.I have tomato plants in containers on my deck. How do I keep squirrels from stealing the tomatoes?
I have heard that the smell of humans puts off a good many animals from your garden. I have read that you can take cut hair (ask the barber) and sprinkle it around the garden.
I am going to try this myself b/c i am having trouble w/ the squirrels digging up my plants!
Good luck :)I have tomato plants in containers on my deck. How do I keep squirrels from stealing the tomatoes?
Humanely trap them and move them to a city park. You can buy the traps at home depot.

My brothers pet squirrel ate a crayon!?
Ummmm my brother went to a friends house after school today and he made me watch his pet squirrel Chewie. I didnt want to let him out of the cage because whenever he does, he runs around the house in a rage and knocks everything over. But he got out of his cage by accident and he went downstairs ate part of a crayon that was on the floor. I dont know what to do!?! Is he gonna die from this? WHat should I do if he dies before my brother gets home?My brothers pet squirrel ate a crayon!?
What color was it? Cuz, Magenta is known to kill squirrels! My brothers pet squirrel ate a crayon!?
Hm... Because a squirrel is a wild animal, a waxy product such as a crayon may be toxic to his system.
However, there is hope. Usually animals won't eat anything that they can sense, is poisness or bad for them.
Sort of like when birds avoid poisness berries.
On the other hand, from being in captivity, he may have lost this instingt. The best thing you can do is wait with Chewie until your brother get's home, or call him and tell him what happened. Your brother will be mad if you don't tell him.
Sorry if this didn't help.
Good luck to you, and Chewie. ;)
Most crayons are non-toxic. He should be fine. He'll poop it out colorfully in a day or two.
I shouldn't worry too much, crayons are made for children and you can be pretty sure that anything made for them is comparatively safe for human consumption, in moderation, that is. Just buy your friend some new crayons!
