Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?

Four light are mysteriously not working and I know we have at least two squirrels in the attic.Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?
During harsh winters with a lot of snow and no food for them they will eat the plastic and insulation off of wires. They even ate the rubber hose to my out door grill this winter. Check your service panel for tripped breaker or blown fuses. If they are tripped then leave them off and check the attic or call for electrical repairs. We found one cable eaten in 8 different locations so if you see one chew mark there could be more. Best to have an electrician check them out. Mice will also cause wire damage. If this is a problem you might want to replace the exposed cables with metal shielded. (BX) I found it cheaper to put out some corn way in the corner of the yard during severe weather. It is a cheap insurance policy. I hate squirrels but have learned that killing off 3, the next day you have the same number.Could squirrels in our attic affect our electricity in this way?
Yes, Squirrels can effect your light(electric)They love to chew on wires just like mice do. I would get a registered electriction to check this problem out as Fires do start from bad wireing.. Be safe and do it now.. good luck
Everyone knows it takes 4 squirrels to power 4 bulbs. Get bigger ones if you only have two!

Sorry- just being a s.a.

The previous answer is right- the buggers love to chew wires.
Are they dead? If they chewed into the wires and shorted out a circuit then the breaker should be popped-off and and a dead squirl.
Squirrels can chew through the insulation of your wiring and short it out. I would check your fused and breakers in the distribution box first.
they will chew on wires. They will breed and the smell will be awful.
